146, Administrative Meeting 5/1.9/81
Page 3 .
Chairman Garland felt they would need to start out with two maps
one of a zoning nature, and one showing town-owned land and con-
servation land.
Jean Thomas felt the G w should also look at the water situation in
town.
chm. Garland directed Exec . secretary to send a memo- to all concerned
boards and committees asking , them to= name a designee by June 1, 1981.
The Memo should state that the, Committee is being set up by the Board
f selectmen and might say that the Chairman of each committee
would be assumed to be the designee, unless we are otherwise notified.
The selectmen agreed that the first meeting should be held on June 1
t 7 : 00 in the Planning Board Office.
11Mr, Garland reported that Hill Hanson had stopped by on Monday to in-
form the Board that he is working- with a .group in Dartmouth who are
running a firewood co-cop, and Mr. Hanson, would like to participate
in the co-op and bring it to Mashpee fo-r the benefit of our elderly
and others in town who burn- wood. The trees would be brought in in
tree lengths , - and dropped off, . .this nrevents their being- stolen.
He would like to have the wood cut up and -delivered to the elderly
at a norninal cost, ; younger residents could cut their own, on site .
Ir. Hanson is looking for a place to have the wood dropped.
Executive secretary asked- why the town was involved. Jean Thomas
stated that we have enough wood to be cleared out of the cemeteries,
etc. , that we could dive to our. elderly, she doesn' t thinly the Town
should get involved. Mr. Garland concurred that we shouldn' t do any-
thi n now. . . .he just wanted to make the Board aware o what is being
considered. Mr.. Hanson had suggested using the Tribal Council land.
All present felt it would be a good Tribal Council activity.
12 chin. Garland has received a cotter from . IcPhi lbin regarding the light
problem at the Police and Fire Departments, It seems they have no
real solution to the problem. Mr. Garland feels we may wart to get
Peckham to reset the heat shields, using contingency funds .
13 Jean Thomas reported she has received a copy of the Water Resource
Report, -which was just completed. she feels it is an excellent job.
14 s an afterthought, Jean Thomas suggested that perhaps the Building
Inspector should be a member of the new Glc). The Executive S:ecretary
asked who should be the secretary . . . . it .was suggested -he ask Marilyn
Farren, she will have to be paid out of the Selectmen' s account.
1 fir. Garland reported that Bill Glendenin had stopped b to est that
y su g at
e contact the Executive secretary of the Town of Dennis to inquire
about a contract that town has with cleminshaw, the firm which has
applied to do our revaluation, which contract provides foree ing their
valuations continually up-to-date. such an agreement might be beneficial
l
to Iashee.
Res ectfully submitted,
Grace Erdman,
Secretary, Dro-tem
