i t DOTES ON ADMINI'S'TRATIVEIEETIIG October .2 O., 1981 1 Regarding the Memo on repairs for the Health Agent' s Datsun, the Selectmen asked, who is Rantuccio Mr. Murphy will find out. Sel. Thomas asked if the figuresive for repairing the Animal officer' s vehicle were hard estimates Mr. Murphy stated that he understood that they were-. He would not recommend..spending one cent over the estimated amounts. Sel:. Thomas asked what was happening on the su e. tion of putting the Animal officer under the Police chief? Mr. Murphy reported that he has discussed this with the Chief, and he is perfectly agreeable to the plan. He is researching the implications. r Sel. Thomas said that many Town' s have all. the Dog Officers calls acing through the Police Department. She continued that the conservation commiss-ion desperately needs help. Maybe the Natural Resources Officer should be entirely seperate Sel. Garland wonders if we really need a Dog Officer? why can't the Police Department just handle the calls? Mr. Murphy stated that is one possibility - they do the prosecuring, anyway. Sel. Thomas said that one problem is people from other towns coning here and setting trap lanes. .the Dog Officer has to walk through the woods and fields. to find therm. Mr. Murphy wondered how effective we are in preventing that, n - -del. Thomas stated that at least they know someone is out there with the responsibility to do so* 2 Police officer.l.s appointment: Mr , Murphy reported that he has pre- sented the applications for the selectmen to examine, as requested. Sel. Thomas replied that she has clone so - and it looks like we have some good candidates, Appointment should be made tomorrow. Selectmen ' s Reports Dump' O tct Sel. Thomas wondered if the Selectmen should consider modifying the dump contract to allow for Tuesday opening's Mr,, Murphy responded that he thinks it would be preferable to wait . for a request from the contractor, when one party to a contract asks for something, they rust be prepared to dive something, Sel. Thomas asked if there was anything the Board should be briefed on from Town counsel? Mr. Murphy replied that everything is in writing in the folders , Town' Couh s e l At that point, Town Counsel arrived. He reported that Sel. Thomas had apparently received a call from Mike McGrath who felt Town Counsel ' s opinion on the second set of photos was strong, but he stated he would go along with it, The Selectmen should have the second sett of photos in '1 days. But in Town Counsel 's opinion, Uolmes and McGrath may keep the - negatives , as they are part of their work contract. Quaker Run See pace 2 .
