Meeting <br /> 10/20/81 <br /> Pace 2. <br /> 'Quaker Run Appeal <br /> Town Counsels while awaiting the arrival of state officials , briefed <br /> the Selectmen on developments on this appeal . He feels the Board of <br /> Selectmen should participate in the decision. The Board of Appeals <br /> would like input from the Planning Board and the Board of Selectmen. <br /> el. Thomas stated that she feels this development is no worse than <br /> any others she has seen. Town Counsel pointed out that the bid differ- <br /> ence is that they are low-income. <br /> el. Thomas stated that her -concern is with the water situation. Pil- <br /> grim' s inn' s Pride Nur8ing Horne is having problems already. How does the <br /> developer .intend to handle that? <br /> Town Counsel reported that developer plans to have ' common artisan well <br /> for the whole development. That is an expensive solution. <br /> el. Thomas asked if the project could be phased, so that there is not so <br /> much impact all at once lay Sweeney had arrived, and stated that he felt <br /> that would be agreeable to the developer, <br /> m, Garland stated that his concern is that it does not provide for the <br /> residents of lahee first. Town Counsel confirmed this: they can cone <br /> from anywhere. Mr. Sweeney said- that when federal money is involved, they <br /> can cone from anywhere in the country, <br /> Town Counsel stated that this builder put up Cromwell Court in Barnstable, <br /> and they have been maintained very well. <br /> hm. Garland asked who is responsible for maintenance in this kind of a <br /> development? Town Counsel replied that the owners are responsible; Crom- <br /> well Court has a Tenant' s Association which seems to work well.
