Admin. Mtg.
12/22/81
Page
sel., Thomas also asked if the Christmas Tree project news release
could be given to thepress - tomorrow? It was agreed it should be
released. She reported the Boy Scouts and Cub scouts would be
handling the trees , and we are most . grateful. for their willingness
to assume responsibility for this pro3ect. She also reported that
the Lioness ' would be serving them hot chocolate. It was suggested
that someone would need to notify the Council on Aging, and make a
sign or two to direct people as to where they should leave their'
trees in the parking lot.
el Garland stated that a telegram had gone out -the day before over his
signature, and he had not been consulted about it. Although he would
have signed- the telegram, he would prefer- to be Consulted .before such
action is taken in- the future, The unusual circumstances that prompted
the hasty decision to send the telegram before the south Casae Beach
legislation was brought to the floor, was explained to Chm. Garland,
alone with apologies .
hm. Garland reported on the good results of the previous 'night' s meet-
ing with representatives of the Mashpee , Wampanoag Tribal Council, Inc.
He felt there were good indications of the desire to cooperate from the
Tribal representatives , and the Selectmen. Mr. Murphy reported comments -
he has received from some Town employees' . whose' nares - were listed as
plaintiffs in the suit. They did not previously know they were going to
be considered plaintiffs , and have asked that their names be removed from
the suit documents.
Notes taken by
Grace Erdman,
Administrative Secretary
