• " r, r i I R MINUTES x'11, TINES of MEETING -OF BOARD of SELECTMEN January 2 , 1982 Present: vice ,Chairman B. Jean Thomas and Selectmen. Kevin D. O' Connell, , Executive S retary Joseph F. Murphy, Jr. Chairman Chester A. Garland was absent because he was' attending a, meefing of the Counter Finance Board. Vice Chairman Thomas convened the, meeting at 2 : 05 +r . She moved that the mutes of January, 2 , 1982 , b e' amended to show that the Chairman had been attending a Meeting of the County Finance Board on that 'date , . also. A vote . OLD BUSINESS 1) Mr, Plus by, Executive Secretary, reported that he had seat the Police Chief ' s proposed Bir-Law on street light- ing to the Town Counsel f r . re view. He also included the question that has been raised about a private street light being installed should there he a Public Hearing before it is allowed? This was a question raised by Chm. Garland. Sel. O' Connell said he knew of no such requirement. 1 Mr. Murnhy reviewed the, Town' s request for a volunteer groun to undertake a street light survey, but this attempt - had been unsuccessful.. el. O' Connell said he doesn't feel it has to be a by-law. Plur by siggested it could .be adopted by this Board as as an administrative policy, using the guidelines prepared by the Police -Chie-f as criteria. - At this point, Mr, Woodbury who was in the audience , stater that as of two weeks ago , Mr. Jacobson had no- list of the streets in Town. Mr. Murphy reported that Jane Labut and Jake have been working on this for several. months. Sel. O'Connell said there is such a list, he is sure' of that. He believes they are now just con.fi r in q if all the streets listed have been properly accepted. Sel . Thomas suggested that the Police Chief' ' recom endation be adopted as ars administrative policy. All agreed. NEW 8USINESS 1 The Conservation Commission has received another _parcel of lard donated- by mr. DeYoung. It is necessary for this Board to vote to accent the two lots (see memo o attached.) . ,Sel O' Connell roved that the property be accented, with gratitude. . A vote . 2 Regarding arding dew Seabury' s request to extend their closing D_ eriod for another month, Sel. O' Connell moved approval.+ - -vote.
