• Section 4 .7.5 Water Skiing. <br /> a. There shall be no water skiing or jet skiing within 150 feet <br /> of shorelines, bathers, . boats underway by means other than motors , <br /> or. boats not underway, nor in shallow or narrow areas properly <br /> posted as "no wash' , "no wake" , or 6 MPH maximum speed" areas. Ski <br /> starts and. stops shall not be permitted within 150 feet of any <br /> shoreline except that the Town may designate an area or areas which <br /> will be properly posted indicating that starts and stops are per- <br /> mitted from shore within this specified beach area. <br /> b. All turns shall be in a counter clockwise direction. No person <br /> shall operate a motor boat while drawing more than two water skiiers <br /> at the same time. No person shall water ski except during the hours <br /> of from one=half hour after .sunrise and one-half hour before sunset. <br /> There shall at all times be a competent .person. in addition to the <br /> operator in a position to observe the person or persons being towed. <br /> (Chapter 100, Acts of 1976, requires that the observer in a, motor- <br /> boat towing a waterskier must have attained the age of 12 years . ) <br /> C. Subject to the restrictions outlined above, water skiing and jet <br /> skiing are permitted on the tidal waters of Popponesset Bay, Nantucket <br /> Sound and Waquoit Bay only. Water skiing and jet skiing in these <br /> areas are subject to restrictions which may be specified by the Town <br /> by properly posted signs or markers . <br />
