MEETING OF BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> December 8, 1982 <br /> oo p.m. - Convene Meeting, <br /> P1 E ENT':. Chairw in n-. B. Jean Thomas , Selectmen Chester A. Garland, Executive <br /> Secretary Joseph F@ Murphy, Town Counsel Joseph R. Reardon. <br /> GUESTS: Mr. Donald Brown from Precision Emergency vehicles , Jane Peterson, <br /> Chief Priestly, Mr. Mrs . Tremblett, Public works Study Committee , <br /> Motion by Sel. Garland to approve the -minutes of the December 1, 1982 , <br /> Regular meeting. Seconded by Ch.m. Thomas . This is a vote . <br /> 2 :00 p.m* - Ms . Jane Peterson, representative for the Mashpee Better Business <br /> Assosciation, came, to invite the Selectmen to. the lighting of the <br /> Christmas lights on Friday, December 10 , 1982 , at :-oo p.m. <br /> Board thanked Ms . Peterson for coning and will try to attend <br /> 2 :15 p.nn.- Mr, Donald Brown, -frog► Precision Emergency Vehicles , Inc. , who <br /> was the low bidder on the new ambulance carne to the Board to <br /> express his complaint which was that he was not given the' opportu� <br /> -nity to meet with the EMS coordinator to discuss' the specifications . <br /> He gave his background in the business as well as his company, <br /> Chief Priestly said that he could not get every-�-one together at <br /> one time. He also said that. he is concerned with the cost and <br /> he is trying to save the Town some money, but he i really - try- <br /> ing to' mirror the ambulances to extend the life mecha i ally as <br /> well as service wise . He still believes this is the right way <br /> to go. Set. Garland asked Chief Priestl . if he had reviewed the <br /> specifications and if he had compated].. them. He asked, "Did you <br /> take the bids and compare them?" Chief Priestly replied that he <br /> he had not in the sense that Sel.. Garland meant. He said he took <br /> the specifications and did- review them. Set. Garland asked why <br /> this company had not been allowed to meet with the ambulance <br /> committee. Mr. Brown said he spoke once to Paul Frazier and that <br /> the Chief had been helpful. Sel . Garland questioned Chief Priestly <br /> on the chassis and why the box wouldn't fit. He asked why the <br /> oul.e could not be transfered. Chief Priestly said it would <br /> cost more money. Sel. Garland disagreed. Mr, Brown spoke on <br /> the fact that they have a service man here on the Cape . Board <br /> said that they would take this under advisement and that Mr. Brown <br /> would be hearing from them. Chm. Thomas said that -everyone should <br /> get together and have a meeting f the minds .. <br /> 2 : 30 p..m. - Board decided to have an Administrative Meeting next Tuesday, <br /> December 1 , 1982 at 9 :00 p,m a <br /> Chm. Thomas asked the Trembletts if they wanted to speak. They an-swered that <br /> they were here to answer questions and to see how the Board bolas their meet- <br /> 'ng. They were here to observe. <br /> D BUSINESS : <br /> 1. Sel. Garland wants to check on the ambulance bid- matter before he <br /> reviews Chief Priestly' s memo on ambulance bid reco:Mmendations . <br />
