This is a vote . sel . - Garland asked Executive secretary to explain how the Town is going to request 'Excavating Permits from anyone disturbing Town roads . He stated that the Superintendent of streets is going- to. request an excavating permit because the contractors are making cuts into our roads. A frequent occur rence is the breaking of our roads because of the heavy equipment . and loads , as a result a nurber of Townroads are damaged. He also explained that the Falmouth Enter r.is:e will ..publish this new regulation and. this rregula- tion will- be ' n file at the Town Clerk's office, the , Building Inspector`.1 s, officand at the Highway Department. The contractors krill have t apply e g . and - receive an excavating -permit from the Superintendent of streets an he will be working'ing ,�very closely with the Building Inspector. At -some time the contractors will also have. to post a bond. sel. Garland asked for an date on Old Barnstable Road, Executive Secretary said that he had spoken to Mr. Lacava and the supervisor- and they had agreed not to- use that road. Sel. Garland said that he' does not know whose trucks they. are, but that -twice he witnessed trucks coring out of Old Barnstable Road- onto CentrAl Road. Thomas sai �. d .that we cannot stop them from using that road and all that we are trying to do is prevent the breaking up of roads in the Town. el. Garland brought up the statement made by M . Yarrow from the part- ment of Environmental Affairs regarding South Cape Beach. el. - Garland has so problem with this as it relates to the degree they plan on using some Town parking arJ in lot. hr . Thomas said that this would be -addressed at the next meeting of the south Cape Beach Advisory study Committee and the State . - g Se l. Garland also asked abut our Police Department patrolling the beach now that the state owns it. He questions why..'-the Town should be paying for this . Chm., Thomas recommended sel. Garland send a memo to the south Cape Beach Advisory Committee relating his concerns .
