He asked what the minimal hours would be . needed in order to stay open and keep their license. He also explained that the window on- the door- got broken and it is hard- to replace, the bar has to be done over and ,they- creed to- hire someone to keep the place open+. explained that the Board of Health had ordered the bar be clone over, Chm, Thomas conveyed her own feelings . Stating that there is no activity there now and by statute theBoard can allow an establishment to be closed for renovations but not because they are having. hard time . Set. Garland on 'the procedure . for a hearing and stated that a hearing was scheduled for 'the Wigwam and ,The Farre n-'"March 2, 1983. el. Hanson referred to the Board allowing e +r Seabury an e.xtensi.on for renovations and only for khat reason. Town Co.unsel spoke on the elimination- of the quota in Barnstable County and that perhaps they should apply for a seasonal license. Mr. Devane explained -that they are in the process. o f ownership change4p He reiterated the -.problems they had .and that, they are trying. He also said that they could be open tomorrow. sel. Garland made the suggestion that the' permit be extended until midnight February 15, 1983 with instructions to the Building l.nspctor and the Board of Health. Discussion continued, Motion by Sel . Garland to extend the closing of Quashnet Valley Country Club, to expire at 12 : 00 ,m.., February- 1 , 1 providing all permits are. obtained from the Hoard of Health and a schedule of. hours be furnished to the Board on February 16f 1983. - Town Counsel asked if the -request is in writting, Town Counsel explained that the request has to be in writting from Mr, Umina as he is the license holder. Sel. Garland moved to suspend this part of the meeting until Mr. Umina arrives . Mr. Charles Hicks , Civil Defense Director carne to ask the Board if his petition would be accepted and the following article be placed on the next Town meeting, The article is fore the Board of Selectmen to convey lana owned by the Town to the Mashpee - .F.w. -,Memorial Post 5489 , Motion . y sel. Garland to accept the petition. Seconded by Sel . Hanson. This is a unanimous vote. oo p4m, - Mr. Brian Harrison care to the Board to ask for a. waiver of a Sunday permit; He explained that this is a self help group who have to donate thirty hours a week in order to be eligible and they build their own home. Most of there are in a low- income criteria and cannot do this work except on Sundays . Board informed Mr, - Harrison that'..the Police Chief is the only one who can issue this permit, and that. the fee is $2 . 00 . After dis� cussing this , the Board decided to remand the sweet back to the Police Chief. Board thanked Mr. Harrison for corning.
