i <br /> 4 ' <br /> BOARD of SELECTMEN MEETING <br /> March 2, 1983 <br /> PRESENT: Chairwoman B. Jean Thomas, Selectmen Chester A. Garland and Will <br /> Hanson. Executive Secretary was absent due to serving in the <br /> Reserves . Town - Counsel was away on vacation. <br /> GUESTS: fir. Edward Mitchell, Mr-. James Kogut, Mr. David Terry, Mr'. Curtis <br /> Woodbury, Mr. Robert Sanders , Ms , Jane Peterson, Ms , Barbara Hammond, <br /> Mrs . Vernice Polka. <br /> 2 : 00 p.m. -- Chairwoman convened the meeting. <br /> Sel . Garland moved to approve the- minutes of the February 14 , 1983 <br /> Administrative Meeting. February 16 , 1983 Regular and Executive Sessions <br /> and the minutes of the February 23, 1983 Regular Meeting. Seconded by Sel. <br /> Hanson. This is a vote. <br /> Ir. David Terry brought ire- a final report of the Charter Commission and. <br /> thanked the Board for their cooperation. Chm. Thomas thanked hien for his. <br /> time and effort. <br /> HEARINGS AND APPOINTMENTS <br /> 2 : 00 p*x . - Chm. Thomas stated that this was the 'public hearing on the <br /> liquor license .of. the Wigwam. Sel. Garland explained that <br /> the public hearing on the Wigwam. would have to be an informal <br /> meeting as the notice had not been published in the Enterprise. <br /> Chm. Thomas explained to Mr. Edward Mitchell that we did not <br /> know until the day before that the. notice had not ween published. <br /> Mr. Mitchell- said ' e was here to get some information from the <br /> Board. He wuld life to know what he has to do in order to <br /> maintain his liquor license year round. He said that whatever <br /> the Board decided, he would abide by.. ' Chm. Thomas said for him <br /> to submit in writting what he can do for his operational hours <br /> and open':.as soon as possible. Sel. Garland concurred with Chm,, <br /> Thomas that it should be- in writting. Sel. Hanson asked -Mr. <br /> Mitchell if he had given any thought to a seasonal licensee Mr. <br /> Mitchell replied that he wants to keep his yearly license. He <br /> also asked to have the difference explained between ars Inn- Keepers <br /> license and a Common victualer' s license. Chm, Thomas read the <br /> licenses and explained. She also stated that -Mr. Mitchell should <br /> present the Board with something in writting that would show his <br /> interest to serge the public. Mr. Mitchell said- that he would <br /> probably be ready to open in -two weeks . He also asked if he <br /> could open only Fridays , Satr•dars and Sundays . He asked for <br /> the Hoards input on that. Sel, Garland said that they will take <br /> no formal action at this time and reiterated that Mr. Mitchell <br /> should put all this in writting. Chm. Thomas said, "'Put it in <br /> writting than we can act on it. " She also said, "Mr. Mitchell <br /> get us a letter by next geek. " Sel . Garland so moved. Seconded <br /> by Sel. Hanson. This is a vote. <br /> 2 :15 p,m. - Chm. Thomas introduced Mr, James Kogut who is the present operator <br /> of the Farm. Sel. Garland explained that the notice of the public <br /> hearing had not been published therefore this would be an informal <br />
