Also he said that part of <br /> the abutters had not been notified. Now the public hearing will be held o <br /> May 4 , and the legal ads are to be in the paper on the l -th and. the 26th. <br /> Executive secretary said that there are two issues <br /> 1.. ) the Town Meeting starts on May 2nd. This article will be postponed until <br /> May 9th. <br /> 2. the warrant text which cannot be changed now ,wi 1 l, differ. <br /> Town Counsel said that this would be legal if at warning was attached <br /> to the legal. ad. <br /> 3:00 p.m. - The Library Building Committee members cane to discuss with the <br /> Board the site of the new library. Chin. Thomas -asked Mr. Shaughnessy <br /> to give an update on what had taken place so' far. After Mr. Shaughnessy' s <br /> explanation Chm, Thomas said that the next step was the site . Sed.. <br /> Hanson said that he has strong reservations in putting it across from <br /> the police/fire complex or any place in regards to Route 151 and that <br /> area, Sel, Hanson suggested - that the Library Building Committee exa- <br /> mine the area adjacent to the school which is Town owned land. Sel. <br /> Garland said that he is fearful of the configuration intruding on <br /> access road to complex. He showed how the scale indicates that there <br /> is more .and at the school. Chm.. Thomas said thatL the Board feels <br /> that the location suggested by the Library Building' .Committee is the <br /> least desirable. Members of the Committee voiced their opinions on <br /> the second choice and thea they are concerned about using the property <br /> recommended by the Selectmen at the school because this might interfere <br /> with- the state aid that the Town receives . Discussion was also held <br /> on a traffic light being installed if the -site was, at the complex. <br /> Chm. Thomas asked Mr. Shaughnessy t6 meet,with Nor. Chase, Fields Point <br /> representative, and- to ask him to make an offer in writing of whatever <br /> the .condi tions are if - the Town aec.e t the land they are offering o <br /> the library site. Mr. Shaughnessy- said that he will pursue this and <br /> try to get an answer by next- week. Mr. Shaughnessy said that .the <br /> Library Building Committee will also look at the site at the school <br /> and inquire if this would .interfere with State aid, Board thanked <br /> Committee for coming. <br /> 3: 30 p.m. - Mr, Richard Cook brought a ,survey map of - th6 area where he is <br /> requesting a shellfish grant. Chm. Thomas explained that a public <br /> hearing is needed on this matter-. She also toad Mr. Cook that this <br /> hearing will be scheduled fourteen days after publication and that <br /> he would be notified with instructions . <br /> Meeting returned to New Business <br /> 3. n the memo from the Personnel Board regarding grievance proceedures , <br /> which in this ease they refer to Mr. - Gerald Urnina, who they feel by- <br /> passed there and came directly to the Selectmen, the Boded stated that <br /> Mr. Umina nearer came to - the Board as a whole. He may have spoken to <br /> them individually., Chm, Thomas siad that the Board has done nothing <br /> -wrong, <br /> 4, ) The memo from the- Personnel Board relative to rate o f, pay for temporary <br /> help, referring to Florence Lucas who works in the Assessors office, <br />
