Terry, Executive Secretary Joseph F. Murphy. <br /> GUESTS: John Burke, Judy Howell. , Jane Peterson, Anne T. Shaw, Ernest Virgilio, <br /> Anna Tanneyhill , 'Charles and Gertrude Cuthbert, Fire .Chi-ef Ed Hartin, <br /> Police Chief Curtis Fare, Charles Hicks and Howard Evora. <br /> 6 : 00 p.m. - Chairman- Garland convened the meeting. <br /> Motion by Selectmen Terry to approve the minutes of the May 25, <br /> 1983 meeting. Chm. Garland noted that a correction is to be rade where the <br /> listing for those present is typed. The word are is to be removed and the <br /> middle initial L. is to b - included. The motion was seoonde.d by sel. Hanson <br /> .with the correction. Motion carried. <br /> HEARINGS AND APPOINTMENTS : <br /> 6 : 00 p.m& Chat. Garland opened the public- hearing on the. Channel 's request <br /> for ten video games, Chan. Garland read the public notice that was <br /> in the Falmouth Enterprise and asked if anyone .present was for or <br /> against and if they wished to speak . He also noted. that in lieu <br /> of receipts for notification of abutters the Board' accepted letters <br /> from the abutters . <br /> el, Terry asked. Mr. John Burke,. the manager, what had happened <br /> because at the alcoholic beverage license hearing he had asked <br /> if there was �..go ing to be any video games . and Mr.. Burke ha'd- replied <br /> in the negative at that time. <br /> Mr, Burke said that he did not understand .what Sel. Terry had <br /> asked hien. He .didnn' t think about that at that time. He was <br /> undecided then, this was -overlooked in the confusion of getting <br /> everything. <br /> h . Garland .asked if it could be possible not to put all the <br /> . , machines together in' one line. As he is concerned with. problems <br /> that occur when amusement machines are clustered together.. He <br /> said that people - have a tendency to get carried .away. He would <br /> really like to see them dispersed in a wider area. <br /> Mr. Burke said -that he would have eight machine lined up in the <br /> right, hand room and the other two would be in an area along side <br /> the stage. He stated that the devices would be fairly close but <br /> not one on top of the other. He also stated that the doormen and <br /> the bartender would be close by. <br /> el . Hanson asked if there were - any games in the establishment now. <br /> Mr. Burke answered in the negative. <br /> i <br /> Chm. Garland. asked 'if' any one was opposed, None. He than stated <br /> that the Ch-air would accept a motion, <br /> e l . Terry moved to approve the application for ten video games <br />
