Tarbox,. who was <br /> a veteran of world War I . Chm. Garland said that this was <br /> lovely and gracious- gift. Board thanked Ms . On the memorandum from the Personnel Board relative. to the .bids <br /> on the Falmouth/ ashpee cranberry- bo gs the Executive Secretary <br /> explained that Falmouth had awarded their bid to Handy Cranberry <br /> Trust and seeing as how that patr.ticular bog. is owned jointly, it <br /> is - Very difficult to award our bice to Hobert Hallett and Donald <br /> L. Jermyn. Sel. Hanson feels that it should -be atwrded to Hallett <br /> - and Jermyn as their bid specifies $12. 00 a barrel in comparision <br /> to Handy ' of - $5 ,00 a barrel. F e u.tive Secretary said that the <br /> specifications for the hies had not been specific as to how the <br /> cranberries should be picked-. Handy wants' to wet pick and how <br /> can a distinction be rade between Falmouth's berries or Ma8hpee' s <br /> berries . Chm. Garland explained the situation and the impractica- <br /> bility of the natter. He also recommended that the Board meet with <br /> the Conservation Commission to discuss this -matter further , in :two <br /> weeks .-.-- - ,Board concurred. <br /> 6 : 30 p,ma Police Chief Curtis Frye care to discuss with- the Board the crea- <br /> tion of a Civil Defense Auxiliary. Chm, Garland questioned the <br /> liability insurance for the individuals who would join. Chief <br /> Frye stated that the liability insurance comes under a section <br /> of the civil defense. He said the government takes care of that. <br />
