Mr. Lynch said that all he wanted was assurance <br /> from the Selectmen that he could bid next year. Board stated <br /> that- he would not be excluded in future years. Mr, � Murphy <br /> stated that- from now on the bidders would have to pay the town <br /> up front, the total amount. se 1. Hanson agreed -with the payment <br /> up front. Chm, Garland said that- the bid process is self defeating, <br /> He also stated that this matter can be addressed -at a later date. <br /> Mr. Lynch as] ed. if 'he could make a suggestion, Board said that <br /> e could. Mr. Lynch feels the bid should.-be for- two to three <br /> .years-. in order to allow. the. contractor time- to build equity. <br /> hm. Garland said that his suggestion. was, noted. <br /> hm. Garland asked if there was any other. old business . <br /> Board replied in . the negative. <br /> NEW BUSINESS : <br /> 1 . on the memo from the. Executive Secretary relative to the Fall town- <br /> meeting, Chm. .Garland - said that he- supports the s he ul . and -has -.no <br /> problem with it. He also feels that Nor. Murphy has a good point - on <br /> the special election. referendum on Proposition 2k.. Board discussed <br /> the building of the l.i.brary. Board concurs with the memorandum of <br /> the Executive Secretary and approves . <br /> . n the gasoline bids Executive secretary gave a synopsis of the bids . <br /> He also explained the problems regarding the bids.. Such as- one station <br /> stays open until 11: 00 p.m. and.- the other has promised to stay . open <br /> until 10 : 00 p.m. Motion by. sel. Hanson to award the contract for <br /> regular, regular unleaded and diesel to Route 28 , Getty with the <br /> stipulation that a clear written, statement from them is given to <br /> the town stating - that they will be open- until 10 : o p.m.. to provide <br /> .emergency service to the town, and to award the contract for hi-test <br /> unleaded to the Mashpee Suftoco4 Seconded. by sel. Terry. Motion Carried. <br /> 3. on the request . from- the Harbormaster to appoint Mr. Hobert Sullivan <br /> sel.. Hanson recommended that this be de-fered until. next .week. He also <br /> asked that Mr. obl i y be aske-d to attend. <br /> . Board accepted the letter , of resignation from Mr. Samuel Re from the <br /> Library Building Committee with regrets . <br /> . Motion by Sel. Terry to appoint Mr-. Robert. Tallnts. the Clerk of <br /> the Election and. Registration Board per the- recommendations of that <br /> Board. Seconded by Sel. Hanson. Motion passed. <br /> . Board rectiivied a letter- from Mrs . Gloria Selander, Chairperson of the <br /> Library Trustees recommending the. appointment of Ainsley Rockwood to <br /> fill the vacancy created by Avis McKinley 's resi <br /> � gnation. <br /> Motion by Sel. Terror to appoint Mr, Ainsley Rockwood to fill the <br /> unexpired term of Mrs . McKinley to the Board of Library Trustees... <br /> Seconded by Sel. Hanson. Motion Carried. <br /> hm, Garland asked if there was any other, business to be brought before <br /> the Board., <br />
