Terrey to grant permission to the Cape Cod and Hyannis Railroad, <br /> Inc. , to operate motor vehicles -for the carriage of passengers to and from. <br /> its railroad stations . (Copy of License as stated attached) . ' Seconded by <br /> el . Hasson. Motion Carried. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> 1. n the consideration of the- second part of the jury - list Chm. Garland. <br /> recommended that, this matter be defered until the next. stated meeting <br /> of this Board to allow sel. Teary a chance to review the list. <br /> . chm, Garland explained that Diane DeBarros who was to be the Senior <br /> Secreta-ry in the selectmen' s office decided not to take the position. <br /> He also stated that on the recommendations of the Executive secretary <br /> Mrs, Joyce 'Mason should -be appointed. Lotion by sel . Hanson- to appoint <br /> Mrs. Joyce- Mason a Senior` Secretary in the Selectmen' s office. seconded <br /> by sel. Terry. ..Motion Carried. Executive Secretary said that Mrs <br /> Mason would start work as soon as possible. <br /> 6 : 30 , p.m. - Executive secretary explained .that Mr. Nicholas -Lynch was <br /> a bidder on the beach concession and .that he was awarded <br /> the bid last year. He explained that, Mr. Lynch was the low <br /> bidder this year, however the high bidder even though he paid <br /> the first payment to the town decided that he di.d not, want the <br /> contract, The. second-. -highest bidder- was asked but he had <br /> .already committed- his vehicles. for this year. Mr., Lynch <br /> was not recommended by- the- Recreational Director and because <br /> of the time element someone else was called who. comes to <br /> south Cape Beach and does to Cotuit. Executive Secretary <br /> explained that Mr. Lynch had not obtained his permits from <br /> the Board of Health, he- did not make his payments to the <br /> town on time and - ina ll:y that he failed to . provide the s e rvice <br /> at the beach during the time specified in his proposal'. <br /> Mr. Lynch said that he was under. the- impression, that last year <br /> everything rata fine' . He said he had- problems with the Board <br /> of Health i .early June. He feels that he. did -more than what <br /> he had contracted for. He .al. o. feels -that he did not get an <br /> an....adequate explanation. He said that he had -a pretty success- <br /> ful year }soj.1.he b -d again this year only to discover that Wendy <br /> was not satisfied. <br /> Chin. Garland asked if he had finally gotten his permit from <br /> the Board of Health. Mr. -Lynch said he had. - Sel, Terry asked <br /> if the problem was with- the freezer. Mr. Lynch said that it <br /> did and that he ended up bying-.a generator•. He explained that <br /> the late payments were due .because he was just starting, his <br /> business . Sel. Hansom asked what his service was. Mr, Lynch <br /> said he stayed there while there was a crowd, until about <br /> p.M. He said he was there every, day unless he had a .Problem <br /> with the truck. Sel. Hanson. asked if we have contracted.' <br /> Executive secretary said yes and that the payment is $350 . 00. <br /> and up until three years ago the beach concession did not go <br />
