<br /> Motion by Sel. Terry to approve the minutes of the July 27, 1983
<br /> Regular Meeting. as written. Seconded by Chm. Garland. This is a vote.
<br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS:
<br /> * p.m* Chm. Garland opened the Public Hearing. on New England . Telephone
<br /> Company ' s- petition # 3-571 for proposed pedstal -removal, two
<br /> new pedestals , buried wire and - buried cable on Sampson' s Mill
<br /> Road. Chan. Garland asked if anyone present was opposed. None.
<br /> 4 He asked if anyone wanted to speak on this petition. None .
<br /> Motion..by Sel . Terror to approve the petition of New England
<br /> Telephone Company. Seconded by Chm. Garland-, This is a ,Grote.

<br /> NEW BUSINESS
<br /> 1. n the memo from Mr. Charles Ricks requesting the appointments- for the
<br /> Civil Defense. Committee , Executive Secretary explained that Mr. Hicks
<br /> would like- the Aame .of Burley Green removed from the- list and the name
<br /> of Ernest Virgilio put in its place. Motion by Sel. Terror to appoint
<br /> the following individuals to the Civil Defense Committee: Chester
<br /> Koblinsky, Charles Lawrence , Edmund- English, Paul Frazier, Ernest Virgilio,
<br /> Edward Mitchell, Will Mills , Raymond mall, Robert Co r e anche, Vernon
<br /> Thomas and Doris Hendricks . Seconded by Chinn. Garland. This is a vote.
<br /> . n the mem r n hum from the Executive Secretary regarding an article
<br /> y petition, the Selectmen decided to wait until Sel. Term arrived
<br /> to discuss this matter.
<br /> 3 . n the setter of resignation- from Geordine Lynn Roderick, Special Police
<br /> Officer/Senior Dispatcher, -the Board decided to accept her resignation
<br /> with regrets and Chm. Garland asked that an appropriate letter be seat
<br /> to her.

<br /> . Mrs , Dorothy .Studley, Secretary/Dispatcher, for the Police Department
<br /> sent a request for a change of -shift. After the Board, discussed the -
<br /> matter, they concurred that this should be referred to Police Chief
<br /> Frye as the Selectmen feel he is responsible for shift assignments for
<br /> his personnel.
