Thomas said that <br /> she understood' and her only concern is that this article not be buried away. <br /> Board postponed article until Annual Town Meeting. <br /> . On the dog restraint article, Executive Secretary explained that he was <br /> asking for a .deferment of this article because he feels the individual <br /> should' be there to present and defend the article and the Dog officer <br /> is getting r ari d then and h won'.t be here. Secondedly he feels Mr. <br /> Saunders has not worked for the town long enough to explain his article <br /> and thirdly he feels a special meeting is for emergency articles or for <br /> important criteria articles. r..".:Murphy said that the Dog officer <br /> disagreed with him,, that is why this is being presented to the Board. <br /> Board. agreed to delay the article until the next Annual Town Meeting. <br /> . The article for the Design Review Board was discussed and Executive <br /> Secretary explained again that this is in the village Plan Concept <br /> and where this has not been approved. by the Attorney - General it would <br /> be best to do modification after we get the approval. Board concurred <br /> and postponed this article. <br /> . Chm, Garland asked if anyone had other old business to discuss, <br /> el.' Terry said -that Mr, B l keman had contacted him with .the problems <br /> of the Santuit Pond area. He said- that Mr. Blakeman- is requesting <br /> the assistance of our Superintendent of Streets , Mr. Virgilio, on <br /> a contract basis, Sel.. Terry said that he doesn't know what we can <br /> do and he knows that the Board does not want to interfere with the <br /> department head, but he feels - we should try to solve the problems rather <br /> than just listen. Executive scrtar s-aid that the town is willing <br /> and able to clean the basins but our contract states that they be <br /> cleaned in the Spring. Sel. Terry asked what was the Boards thoughts <br /> on this matter. <br /> Mr. Blakeman asked that 30 catch basins be cleaned and stated that <br /> the former Highway surveillor had established nates with a contractor <br /> at a considerably lower rate than he or anyone else could pay. He <br /> also requested the assistance of the Supe.rintendent of Streets to patch <br /> .a. 3001 pot hole in front of the, 'i e Chief's house and a 51 in diameter <br /> pot hole beyond that. He said all the other roads are excellent. <br /> Mr. Blakeman asked if he could get some cooperation by- using the Town <br /> knowledge or contracts if he can get the prig right. <br /> Chm. Garland said that it is not the intent of this Board to interfere <br /> with department heads . He recommends that fir. Blakeman discuss this <br /> matter with Mr. Virgilio , Chm. Garland said that he is sure that Mr. <br /> Virgilio would be willing to help him within the framework of his schedule. <br /> He pointed out that the.. cleaning of the drains would have to be according <br /> to Mr. Virgilio' s schedule. <br /> Mr. Blakeman stated that he appreciate's what Mr. Virgilio slid for hire <br /> last year. However, as. they got into it that one item help and he could <br /> not afford $10, 000 which was suggested. <br />
