Jean Thomas, Walley O'Hara, Jane . <br /> Peterson,' Ernest Virgilio, John Uminar, Tom Devane, Eleanor Hatcher, <br /> Jayne Labute, Al Hollander and members of. the Board of Appeal. <br /> Chairman Garland convened the meeting at 6 :00 p.m. and immediately recessed <br /> the regular meeting to convene the Revenue Sharing Hearing in the caftaria. <br /> 6 : 03 p.xn. Chm. Garland convened-the Revenue Sharing Hearing. <br /> Present: Chm, Garland, Selectmen Hansom and Terry, Executive Secretary Joseph <br /> F, Murphy, Mabelle Caddy, Arthur McNulty and - Eleanor Hatcher from <br /> the Council on Aging. <br /> Chm. Garland stated that the hearing is mandated by statute and it i <br /> to get public input on hover the $68 ,011. 38 should be spent. <br /> Labelle Caddy requested that $2500 of it be spent for Council on Aging. <br /> They are requesting an air conditioner, copying machine and a projector. <br /> Chm. Garland said the Board would take their request under advisement. <br /> ent. <br /> He ,-asked ed i f theme were any. other requests . Hearing none he adjourned <br /> the hearing to reconvene the regular meeting i-n the Selectmen's office. <br /> Hearing adjourned a :to p,m, <br /> Chin. Garland reconvened the regular meeting. <br /> Motion by Sel, Hanson to approve the minutes of the August 31, 1983 <br /> regular meeting. Seconded by Chm. Garland with amendments on pages one and <br /> three. With these corrections the motion carried. <br /> HEARINGS' AND -APPOINTMENTS: <br /> 6 :15 p.m. - Superintendent of Streets , Frnest Virgilio , came to discuss with <br /> the Hoard of Selectment the condition and cost of repairs to Great <br /> Oak Road. He stated that there is a terrible washboard problem <br /> wi.-th the road. He explained that the repairs are very costly to <br /> the Town and that it is costing the town $300. 00 a week to patch. <br /> and maintain that road. He has graded that road seventeen times <br /> this summer and now the grader has to be repaired: Mr., Virgilio <br /> started that he has not been approached by the State to work with <br /> his department and help maintain the road. He has asked the state <br /> for $27, 900 to be included with his department funds in order <br /> to keep that road in a decent condition. He said that something <br /> has to be done. <br /> Chm. Garland said that he had received a call from Ruth Helfeld <br /> from the Department of Environmental Management and was informed <br /> that the state engineers are just starting to price out the cost <br />
