Murphy. <br /> GUESTS : ' Mrs. B. Jean Thomas , Mr, Thomas Devane arse, # Jaye Peterson►: <br /> Mr. Edward Mitchell and Police Chief Curtis Frye . <br /> p Chairman Garland convened the. Selectmen I s meeting of <br /> October 5 , 1983 at 6 : 00 p.m. <br /> Motion by Sel. Hanson to approve the minutes of the September 28 , <br /> 1983 Regular Meeting. Seconded by Chm, Garland, This i a vote. <br /> 00 p#m. - Chm. Garland convened. the ' 'Continuation of the hearing on <br /> . .U� Realty,, Inc. d/b/a/ Quashnet Valley Lounge liquor <br /> license. As the town. had received the approval on the <br /> trams fer from the A.B,C.C, , Chm. Garland asked M, r, Thomas <br /> evane if everything- had been cleared up. Mr. Bevane <br /> replied that it had. Chm. Garland said that there was <br /> no further action and that he was closing the hearing at <br /> 6 : 03 p.m. and that the Board would sign the new licenses. <br /> Chat. Garland questioned the. Executive' Secretary on .the - time between <br /> appointments , Executive Secretary explained that the hearing had <br /> been scheduled a while ago and that the appointment with Police <br /> Chief Frye had. also been scheduled a while back' acid that -)we re try t <br /> Deep some time available for other appointments, Mr. Murphy also <br /> stated that the Chief had been called and asked to come earlier. <br /> Chm. Garland suggested the Board take up old business. while they <br /> wait for the Chief.. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1. Motion by Sel . Hanson to appoint Wendy Rubin to the Cranberry Brig <br /> Manangement Committee per the recommendation of the Conservation <br /> Committee, Seconded by Chm. Garland and this is a vote. <br /> . Chm. Garland said that the -Board had interviewed three individuals <br /> for the associate member to the Board of Appeals a Mr. Vernon <br /> Thomas ,, Mr. William Hanrahan and a Mr. David Fisher. Sel. Hanson <br /> recommended -that the appointment be deferred until Sel. Terry is <br /> present, This is to be .deferred until October 12 , 1983. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> 1. Board reviewed the letter from Mr, Hatfield and Chm. Garland asked <br /> the Executive Secretary to explain the situation. Mr. Murphy said <br /> that Mr. Hatfield had obtained a building- permit in May. His <br /> fir ar cing was in place at that time, Subsequently he went to the <br /> Boar pp � <br /> Board f Appeals for a special permit and was told that none was <br /> r <br /> necessary, he then went bac] t the Building In who- referred <br /> him t the Hoard of Appeals again. Mr. Hatfield was unable- to <br /> wait for the necessary time needed to acquire a special permit <br /> and he decided not to build. He is now asking for a refund of <br /> his $4400, 00 for his building permit. Mr, Murphy explained that <br />
