Jean Thomas , Vernon Thomas , Anne Shaw, Fire Chief Martin, ; <br /> Frederick Blythe, David Kopp, Michael Mai unas , Vernice Polka, <br /> Ellie Wasil, Albert Hollander. ' Robert Courtemanche and Chester <br /> obli ns] y, Selma Rollins. and Richard Dubin, Earl. Marsters, <br /> Harold Collins , Richardson Jonas. <br /> hm. Garland convened the Selectmen' s meeting of October 19, 19 at <br /> oo p.m. <br /> Motion by Sel. Terry to approve the minutes of the -October 1.2 , 1983 <br /> Regular meeting. Seconded by Sel. Hanson. Motion Carried. <br /> HEARINGS AND APPOINTMENTS : <br /> 6 :00 p.m,, - Chm. Garland convened the hearing- on the transfer - of stook <br /> of Mashpee Liquors, Inc- d/b/a Liquor Warehouse, He asked <br /> if there were any opponents, Done.' Chm, Garland stated'..that <br /> the proponents who were present were in favor therefore he <br /> would entertain a motion. Motion by Selectman - Terry to <br /> accept the transfer of stock from Mr. Lawrence to Mr. Blythe* <br /> Seconded by Selectman Hanson. Motion Carried,. Chairman <br /> Garland closed the hearing at p.m. Mr. Blyth'e thanked <br /> Sel. Hanson for his resounding second. <br /> hm. Garland said as the 'Board was 'running ahead of time and Mrs. Anne <br /> Shaw was present they would take her appointment at this time. <br /> 6 : 05 p.m. Anne Shaw came to discuss with the Board the formal approval <br /> to use a lock box. She explained that one was atlready- in <br /> use but Mr. Murphy said it should be on record. Motion by <br /> el. Hanson to ratify prior vote of Board to enter into an <br /> agreement with State Street Bank for a lock box. Seconded <br /> by Sel. Terry. Motion carried. <br /> Anne Shaw also. asked the approval of the Board to get the <br /> authority to distribute payroll checks to. department ,heads <br /> or their designees . Sel, Terry moved to allow Anne Shaw <br /> to distribute payroll checks to department beads or their <br /> designees. Seconded by Sel. Hanson. Motion Carried. <br /> Ms . Shaw also discussed with 'the Board- a Proposal osal to have <br /> State Street Bank do all the billing of taxes , collecting <br /> and demand notices . They would do the weekly trial balance <br /> and this would give the town a. greater flow of -money. <br /> Board discussed this matter further and Mr. Murphy said <br /> that he is looking into this proposal further. The issue <br /> is how this service would be paid for. Mr.. Murphy explained <br /> that there are two methods. of paying for the services 7 one, <br /> through appropriation at Town Meeting and two, through a <br /> credit point system. Board thanked Mrs . Shaw for coming. <br />
