Board discusse-d the lids on the Superintendent of Streets pick-up <br /> truck, Motion by Sel. Hansom to accept the bid of Falmouth Ford <br /> and Chrysler for $7478. 00 for a 1984 Dodge W150 pickup, 4- wheel <br /> driv . Seconded by Sel. Terry. - Motion Carried. <br /> 2 . ) Board reviewed bids on the Building . Inspector r s car. Sel. Hansom <br /> questioned whir a new car. - Executive Secretary explained that it <br /> has to do with specifications'.. Motion by Sel. Hanson moved to <br /> accept the bid from Falmouth Ford and Chrysler for a 1984 , four <br /> door Dodge omni for $65 oo. o. , with delivery in 60 days . Seconded <br /> by Sel. Terry, Motion Carried. <br /> Mr. Hollander arrived for his appointment. <br /> 6 : 30 p.m. Mr. Hollander- came to discuss with the Board the closing. <br /> of Popponesset Spit to shel.lfishing. The enforcement of <br /> rules and regulations on the waterways and authorization <br /> to go through the files on the studies done on the Spit. <br /> On the closing of. the Spit, Chm. Garland referred this <br /> to Mr. Courtemanc ie our Shellfish Warden. Mr, Courtemanche <br /> said that he sloes not want to close the Spit yet. It <br /> would propably he closed at the end of November. <br /> Ch . Garland explained that the Hoard had given the <br /> 'total responsibility of 'the files to the Executive <br /> Secretary and that Mr. Hollander should discuss this <br /> with him, <br /> On enforcement of laws Chm. , Garland- said- that -the' enforce- <br /> ment is a sad' commentary. Mr. Courtemanche said that he <br /> would- like- to see something concrete on the studies' done <br /> at the Spit. <br /> Sel. Hansom said that he felt the Waterways . Committee' was <br /> established to offer. some input to the Sel.. and to come up <br /> with some ideas so that the Selectmen can review there. <br /> Sel. Terry said one of the charges of this ad hoc Committee <br /> was to help the town. <br /> Mr. Hollander would like to see the waterways patrolled <br /> .by peo.pl.e who are not special. police. officers ' and that <br /> .they should all 'be .app. inted as i s Cant shell fish'.wa dens. with <br /> authority to fi e and arrest offenders, Chm, Garland said <br /> that he. sloes not' know ghat authority could be vested to these <br /> individuals. He would like with the Board' s permission t <br /> get Mr, MurPhy and Mr'. Reardon involved in the legality.. <br />
