Murphy. <br /> GUESTS : B, Jean Thomas, Delores Kohn- from the Cape Cod Times and Sel. <br /> Hanson' s son. <br /> Chairman Garland convened the meeting at 6 :00 p.M. <br /> Motion by Sel.. Hanson to approve the minutes of the November 9, 1983 <br /> .regular meeting as written. Seconded by Chert. Garland, Motion Carried. <br /> hm. Garland said that there were no appointments or hearings scheduled. <br /> He asked if there was any old business to be discussed. Hearing none <br /> the Board went to new business . <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1. n the letter f rom Mr. Albert Hollander, Chairman o f the Mashpee <br /> Waterways Committee -r u sting -that a letter. be sent to the U.S. <br /> Army Corps of Engineers for an evaluation of the Popponest Channel; <br /> Sel. Hanson said that he had no problem with- this request, Executive <br /> Secretary had drafted a letter of request to be seat to the Array Corps <br /> of Engineers which the Board approved. <br /> 2, ) The Board accepted the- resignation . from the Library Building Committee <br /> of Janice and Jack Smith- with regrets. Chm. Garland explained that <br /> Mrs. Smith had stated illness as the reason for- the resignation. <br /> . Board discussed the, memorandum orandum front Executive Secretary relative <br /> toolioy on liquor licenses and shutting down-. Board suggested that <br /> Executive Secretary contact Town ,Counsel and .ask him to inform the <br /> Board in two weeds what the options are under Chapter 138 and also <br /> to establish a policy on reduction of hours. <br /> . Chm. Garland announced that a speci<Al town meeting will be held February <br /> , 1984 in the gymnasium at the Mashpee Middle School. Articles are <br /> to be submitted to this office by 4 : 30 p,m. on January 1 1 . <br /> . el. Hanson referred to a letter from Mr, Rando. Executive Secretary <br /> said this 'Would be on next weeks agenda. <br /> . Chat. Garland announced the Christmas party would be held at Bobby Byrnes <br /> on December 1 , 1983. Those interested should contact Pat Greene in <br /> the Assessors office no later than December 8 , 1983. He also said <br /> that from what he has heard Ms. Greene is doing a great job putting <br /> this party together. <br /> . ) Chm. Garland mentioned the Barnstable Selectmen Association Meeting. <br /> Executive Secretary said that he didn' t think it was necessary as the <br /> Massachusetts Municipal ' Association meeting started at noon on Friday <br /> and lasted through Saturday. <br />
