Hanson to approve the minutes of the 'December - , 1983 <br /> meeting as printed+ Seconded- by Chm. Garland. This is a vote. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS <br /> 6 : 00' p- .me - chm. Garland opened the New England Telephone hearing. chrn. <br /> Garland r aid- -Ehe. . etiti-on for proposed JO pole location on <br /> Lowerll Road in Mashpee, He- stated that all abutters had been <br /> notified. Chm. Garland asked if there were any opponents. Mr. <br /> Samuel Re asked where, this pole was going to be installed. chrn. <br /> arl nd said where Ashers Path meets Lowerrl1--,,Road. Mr, French <br /> Avho was standing in for Mr, Brown who is a representative of <br /> the telephone company said- that it was just below St, Augustin <br /> Drive and that this is an extension to serge the new house of <br /> Nor. Garland- said that because of unforseen circumstances the tax classifica- <br /> tion hearing would be continued on December 28, 1983 at :00 P*m. <br />' c m* Garland said exile they were still waiting the Board would go to old <br /> business. <br /> OD BUSINESS <br /> 1.. Board discussed the memo from the- Executive Secretary regarding the <br /> policy of liquor licenses and shutting down. hrn: 'Garland commended <br /> the Executive Secretary -on the work that he had done. Mr. Murphy.:S- . l <br /> the Board had expressed concern about this natter and after- he had <br /> made recommendations on November 8, 1983 the Board had requested Town <br /> Counsel ' s opinion. chm. Garland said the Board would adopt the mechanism <br /> of this policy, not at this moment, it- needs to be codified but he is <br /> in favor of -the recommendations of November 8 , with some modifications. <br /> chm. Garland refered to the memo of November 8' which states that all <br /> liquor licensees intending to close for a per.iod in excess of 30 days <br /> notify the Board in writing of its intent along with a reason. The <br /> Board permit a licensee to be closed a maximum of 90 dayswithout- a <br /> public hearing, at which time the licensee may request that it continue <br /> to be dlosed another 60. days for a specific reason. No approval to <br /> close for any period of time would be allowed without the licensee <br /> having paid all fees to the town. chm. Garland said that another <br />
