r BOARD of SELECTMEN MEETING MINUTES JUTE 26r 1954 Present: Willard Hanson, Richard Terror, B. Jean Thomas, Town Counsel, Joseph F. Murphy, Charles Hicks, Enterprise Reporter. The meeting commenced at 8: 00 a.m. Mr.,, . Murpr -advised the Board of selectmen of several smatters i 1. The Police consultant, Ed Connors, will arrive - today. i . The Board of Assesscyrs would meet with selectmen on June 27 to discuss the use of overlay in the Fiscal Year 1985 tax computation. 3. The procedure for psychological screening for Police Sergeant j candidates. 4 Ken Anderson is .interested in the Capital Program Committee, . BobFernald desires Board of Appeals appointment. The Board then discussed the job description for Natural Resources Officer with the emphasis on the amount of time the person would have to perform all of the assigned tasks. The Board voted, -1, with Mrs. , Thomas di s s n i ng, to approve the job description and to have Personnel advertise the position. The Board, though, has modified the emphasis to have the Natural Resources Officer assure control over natural resources func- tions over a gradual period- of time. The Board will discuss this with the Personnel Board to make those members aware of this change as they 'o.nduct the interview process. The Board discussed with Civil Defense Director Charles Hicks his financial needs and plans for next year. The discussion will be resumed in a few weeks after members. of the Board can view the basement of the Police station and Mr. Dicks can determine the costs associated .with his needs. The Board voted to resume the practice of allowing Town .Hall to bo used for evening e'etincs Tuesdays and Thursdays. Recently meetings have been limited to Monday and Wednesday to conserve energy and provide better- security of the building,. At 9 : 00 a.'M.' Mrs. Thomas rade a .motion to go into executive session for the purpose of discussion of litagation. Mr. Terry seconded the motion and on a roll call voter Mrs* Thomas and Mr. Teary voted in the affirmative. Mr. Hanson had left the meeting prior to the motion, Mrs. Thomas announced the Board would not resume open session. The meeting adjourned at 9 : 15 a.m.
