r <br /> BOARD of SELECTMEN MEETING <br /> MINUTES <br /> JUTE 26r 1954 <br /> Present: Willard Hanson, Richard Terror, B. Jean Thomas, <br /> Town Counsel, Joseph F. Murphy, Charles Hicks, <br /> Enterprise Reporter. <br /> The meeting commenced at 8: 00 a.m. <br /> Mr.,, . Murpr -advised the Board of selectmen of several smatters <br /> i <br /> 1. The Police consultant, Ed Connors, will arrive - today. <br /> i <br /> . The Board of Assesscyrs would meet with selectmen on June 27 <br /> to discuss the use of overlay in the Fiscal Year 1985 <br /> tax computation. <br /> 3. The procedure for psychological screening for Police Sergeant <br /> j <br /> candidates. <br /> 4 <br /> Ken Anderson is .interested in the Capital Program Committee, <br /> . BobFernald desires Board of Appeals appointment. <br /> The Board then discussed the job description for Natural <br /> Resources Officer with the emphasis on the amount of time the <br /> person would have to perform all of the assigned tasks. The <br /> Board voted, -1, with Mrs. , Thomas di s s n i ng, to approve <br /> the job description and to have Personnel advertise the position. <br /> The Board, though, has modified the emphasis to have the Natural <br /> Resources Officer assure control over natural resources func- <br /> tions over a gradual period- of time. The Board will discuss <br /> this with the Personnel Board to make those members aware of <br /> this change as they 'o.nduct the interview process. <br /> The Board discussed with Civil Defense Director Charles Hicks <br /> his financial needs and plans for next year. The discussion <br /> will be resumed in a few weeks after members. of the Board <br /> can view the basement of the Police station and Mr. Dicks <br /> can determine the costs associated .with his needs. <br /> The Board voted to resume the practice of allowing Town .Hall <br /> to bo used for evening e'etincs Tuesdays and Thursdays. Recently <br /> meetings have been limited to Monday and Wednesday to conserve <br /> energy and provide better- security of the building,. <br /> At 9 : 00 a.'M.' Mrs. Thomas rade a .motion to go into executive <br /> session for the purpose of discussion of litagation. Mr. Terry <br /> seconded the motion and on a roll call voter Mrs* Thomas and <br /> Mr. Teary voted in the affirmative. Mr. Hanson had left the <br /> meeting prior to the motion, Mrs. Thomas announced the Board <br /> would not resume open session. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 9 : 15 a.m. <br />
