rt <br /> BOARD of SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES <br /> iWEDNESDAY,_ OCTOBER 10P 1984 <br /> PRESENT: Selectman Hanson, Selectman Thomas, Selectman Terry, Executive Secretary <br /> Joseph F. Murphy and Town Counsel, Joseph J. Reardon. <br /> GUESTS: Dave Neill representative for Senator Doane, Mr. & Mrs. Ahti sans <br /> Arlene Hoxie, Ernie & Gloria Virgilio, March Dardano, Delores Kong <br /> Eugene Marr and Monica McNally. <br /> Selectman Hansom convened the meeting of October 10, 1984 at 7 p.m. <br /> Selectman Terry moved to approve the minutes of 'September 26, 1984 regular <br /> meeting. Selectman Thomas seconded. Motion carried. <br /> APPOINTMENTS, & HEARINGS <br /> Mr. Neill appeared for Senator Doane to notify the Selectmen that Mashpee <br /> has been chosen by the State for a grant to build a Salt Shea. Mr. Neill <br /> explained the next steps that were involved and pointed out that the salt shed <br /> would not be ready for this coring winter season, <br /> Mr. Neill also presented the Board a copy of the bill before the House now <br /> relative to the petition to recall elected officials. The Senate concurred on <br /> October 1st. <br /> Selectman Hanson thanked Mr. Neill for all his efforts. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1. Selectmen received the report of Hennigan Engineering regarding Mashpee <br /> River, Mr. Murphy road the conclusion of the report stating that the landfill <br /> has no impact on .the Mashpee River. <br /> Selectman Hanson stated that he had spoken with Mr. Ferragamo who spent several <br /> hours walking the barks of Mashpee River. Mr. Ferragamo reported that he was <br /> unsuccessful with finding any direct flows of suspicions nature. He did however <br /> come across two areas of water that had an unpleasant odor. Nater samples were <br /> taken and sent off for testing. <br /> 2. Mr, Louis C taldo of the Barnstable County Tercentenary C mrnis ion advised <br /> the Board as to the status of the Commission and gage the dates for festivities. <br /> He -.lso pointed out that the committee would be meeting on Wednesday, October <br /> 10th. <br /> Selectmen Thomas felt the town should be represented as there is a l.lot of <br /> j history here in the- Twn of Mashpee. She also suggested that a member of the <br /> Historic Commission represent the town. <br /> i <br /> . Mr. Murphy pointed out that a full Request t for Proposal_ relative to the <br /> Ashumet Fond Study is on the chairman' ,desk for approval. <br /> . The-,--Shellfish Constable requested that the Scallop KOgulations be revised <br /> to include Sundays. <br /> Selectman Thomas moved to modify the Scallop Regulations to include Sundays. <br /> Selectman Terry seconded. All were in favor, <br />
