Re , Chairman of the Publics WorksCommittee, rye t
with the Board to discuss a proposed change relative to the
public works building si to . The Executive Secretary asked
Mr, Ee if he wanted to suggest that they rove into executive
session . Mr. Re said that he did not feel it would be
necessary because all he was asking of the Selectmen was an
ear to let therm know what they were planning to do if it
u interest the town the public or building
explaining that the problem is what to do with the fill
around the site. Birt has been roved with the approval of
the Board of Health into the ravine ne i n order to burry the
brush and they would like to rove more fill into the ravine
which oul d result in cutting some trees. This oul d create
some land in what is considered or th l e property and it
would resultin a minimal cost of the disposal of the fill
offsetting the cost of the additional cut and fill because of
the inaccuracy in the contours. This oul d leave money in
the contingency to do the paving of the road from the east
side of the building,
Selectman Thomas asked for c l ar i f i cat i on of the location of
the ravine . Mr. Re stated that it was 60 ft away from the
buildingon Meetinghouse Road. Re if it would improve the appear-
ance
p ear-
an e by f i l l h n in the ravine . Mr . Re replied "yes and that
it would give the Highway Dept . more land to put piles of
gravel , sand, etc . away from the building" . Ernie Virgilio
emphasized that they would not get into the buffer zone
around the area and that they would leave plenty of trees to
hide the area. He said that he would rule out building n
the area. Selectman Terry asked if they would cover it over
with some kind of loam where the ravine would be filled in..
Mr . Re said that any brush would be covered by 10 ft, Ernie
Virgilio said they could woodchip it to dress it up .
