Landry said that the town should do all it can not to take <br /> the roads over, Sel. .Hanson said that the town will not take <br /> roads unless they- are in good condition. Sel . Hanson said this <br /> is true as all repairs- cost- the town money. Mrs, Landry said s <br /> that the highway department should give the taxpayers incentives. <br /> The town should allow the highway department to fi.x the roads <br /> and ,allow the abutters twenty, years to repair like they do for <br /> sewers. She said that there is a void in the by-law. <br /> Mrs. . Landry alio discussed the drainage problem. <br /> Board thanked <br /> Mrs. Landry for -coming and for her suggestions. <br /> OLD BUSINESS : <br /> 1 . Mr.. Murphy explained that renewal., forms had, been sent out <br /> to Class II used oar licensed dealers. Mr. Edward-0. Gourdin <br /> has submitted his renewal. Mr. Murphy asked that the Board <br /> approve the r n a1 ,. . --,'Motion by Sel , Hanson to grant Mr. <br /> Edward 0. Gourdin a Class- II used car dealer r s .license, <br /> Seconded by Sel . Terry. Motion Carried. . <br /> Mr. Murphy said that two other -licensees had not re lied <br /> to the renewal forms. and he recommended that the State <br /> Department of Pub-lic Safety' and the Registrar of Motor <br /> Vehicle be notified. that Mr. George Fr.igon and AA Towing <br /> and . epairs no longer hold. a Class II license in the <br /> Town of ' Mashpee. Board concurred. <br /> 2 . Executive Secretary, Joseph Murphy, said that the next <br /> item under old business was a letter from Mr. Dorris <br /> irsner regarding the ten acre site at -South Cape Beach <br /> and the abandonment .of part of Great Oak Road and as <br /> Town Counsel had spoken to Atto near. Meger today he would <br /> defer to Mr. Reardon. <br /> .Ir. Reardon said 'that he had indeed spoken to.- Mr, Meger <br /> today and that the State was going to work, out a grant <br /> of easement. Mr-. Meger -also- to.1d him that the taking. } <br /> of South Cape Beach chid not include Great Oak Road. - Mr-0 <br /> Reardon said- they are trying to avoid General Court as <br /> this would require 2/3 votes. He said the town should <br /> vote on this at the town meeting and transfer ownership . <br /> to the State subject to an easement in perp twit ,, thi <br /> would preserve the town'-s rights forever. The town should <br /> Vote to abandon the layout within the park in perpetuity <br /> also. Mr. Reardon said the. State is also working on- <br /> the tax' problem also. Chm. Garland asked who would pay <br /> for the. cost on the work of Great oak Road outside of <br /> the Mate owned property, Mr,,- Reardon said the State <br /> would pay. Discussion continued on what remains to be <br /> done. Town Counsel said nothing at present time, nothing <br /> for the penial town r6eeting. The.y . cannot meet the time <br /> perimeter, Mr, Reardon said that even for the the Annual <br /> town meeting they would be pressing the time factor, but <br /> } <br />
