BOARD of SELECTMEN MEETING <br /> March 7, 1984 <br /> PRESENT: chairman Chester A. Garland, selectmen will rd L. Hanson and <br /> Richard B. Terry, Executive Secretary Joseph F. Murphy. <br /> GUESTS : Ms, Arlene Hoxie, Nis. Jane Peterson and Mr. Vernon Thomas. <br /> 7 : 00p,m. - chm. Garland eonven d the Selectmen' s meeting for March 71 1984. <br /> Motion by Sel. Hanson to approve the minutes of the February 21 and <br /> 28 , 1.984 Administrative Meetings and the minutes of the February 29 , 1984 <br /> Regular Meeting. Seconded by Sel, Terry. Motion Carried. <br /> APPOINTMENTS T AND HEARINGS : . <br /> 7 :00 p.ren. Ms. Jane Peterson met with the Board to introduce Ms , Arlene <br /> Hoxie who will . be replacing her in community relations at <br /> New Seabury, Board welcomed Ms. Hoxie and thanked Ms. Peterson. <br /> OLD BUSINESS : <br /> 1. on the letter from Town counsel. regarding South Cape Beach State <br /> Park, Mr. Murphy said it was only for the Board" s information and <br /> that no action was required. fir. Murphy also reminded- .the Board <br /> that the South cape Beach State Park Advisory Committee meeting <br /> was next Monday and that Town counsel and Mr. Rowley, the Town <br /> Consulting Engineer would be present, He stated- that the reason <br /> for this meeting was to attempt to clarify some of the town' s <br /> positions on this matter. <br /> chm. Garland said that. i the Board concurs a note should be seat <br /> to Mr. Kirsner at 89. State Street informing him' that the Selectmen <br /> would attempt to be there and resolve these things. Board concurred. <br /> Ir. Murphy asked if the Board wanted a package prepared of all the <br /> information relating 'to the two problems-, which aro Great Oak Read <br /> and the to acres site. Board said the package was not necessary a <br /> they have kept all copies of the information on these matters. <br /> 2. ) Board reviewed a letter from Mr. George I allan of SE SASS requesting <br /> an article be inserted in the town meeting warrant to ' have the town <br /> eater into a contract with them, Mr. - Murphy- said the five town <br /> committee sloes not recommend this or any other company at this time. <br /> chm' . Garland stated that he feels this request .is: premature as the <br /> five town committee is still working on -this project. Mr. Murphy <br /> explained that- the meed is not critical at this time and if the town <br /> had a reed he would not hesitate to ask for a special town meeting. <br /> Mr. Murphy said he would not recommend a decision be made in haste <br /> on this natter as the commitment would for rent se re years <br /> He also stated than clot of the research work has already been clone <br /> r n and the Yarmouth report would give the town a good idea <br /> for the t p <br /> n S, AS . Mr. Murphy asked the Board if they wanted a letter seat <br /> to Mr. Mallan informing him that the Board feels this is premature* <br /> Board agreed. <br /> 3. ) <br /> On the memo from the Personnel Board. regarding the choice of physician <br />
