Mr. -Murphy said that the Board- could meet with Mr. <br /> Samuelson, as he is .the Regional'-Manager. chm* a-rland said that <br /> Mr. Samuelson' was very cooperative when. he. was discussion the pro- <br /> blem. of having the mail delivered. from Mashpe - instead of wa luoit. <br /> Sel. Hanson said that a letter should be seat setting up, an appoint-- <br /> .ment with Mr. Samuelson. He also stated that the problem might be <br /> that the post office sloes not have enough manpower. chm. Garland <br /> said that they may not have enough room. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1 . Board reviewed -a letter from the -Barnstable county Commissioners <br /> relative to our representative not attending meetings . Board said <br /> they would. discus s this matter with Mr. Benway.. <br /> . On the letter from Mr. Finnegin the state Auditor, Mr, Murphy said <br /> this was to advise the Board that Mr. F'inngin' s office would be <br /> paying the town $135 for the cost o-f' opening the polls at ,a.r . <br /> This opening of the pll.s was mandated y -the- state and they have <br /> o pay for the increase in cost to the towns. Mr. Murphy said that <br /> this amount could be spent without appropriations-. Chat. Garland <br /> questioned the fact that the- money- was to be put into the General <br /> Fund and expended without appropriation. Mr. Murphy said that , chin. <br /> Garland was correct but this is going into a special Account., <br /> . On the letter from Mr. Frank Homeyer requesting that Mrs. B. Jean <br /> - Thomas he appointed to any future position on the Mshpee Housing <br /> Authority, Mr, Murphy said that there are no openings at this time <br /> except for the one that needs to he filled by the State and that <br /> is an elected office. chm. Garland said- the letter should be filed <br /> and acknowledged. Board concurred. <br /> . M . Murphy explained his request for an article for'.the annual town <br /> meeting warrant relative to a propos'ed aquifer protection district'. <br />
