Old Business continued: . for new and annual. physicals , Mr. Murphy reminded the Board that while back the Board had asked the Personnel Board- to make inquiries on using a Medical center instead of using the present physician as it requires two office visits for a physical to he completed at this time . The Board had deferred the matter, but as annual physicals need to be done at .this time the Personnel. Board is requesting the Board' s decision. Board reviewed all the information furnished- by the Personnel. Board. chin. Garland .-said that he would divorce from raking any decision because of his friendship and knowledge of the two Medical centers recommended y, the Personnel Board. Sel . Terry asked if the tinting was the problem. - rr. Murphy said . it was. Motion by sel . Hansom to 'use Mid cape Medical center for annual and new physicals . Seconded., ley Sel. Terry. Vote- was two in favor and one ostained. Motion , carr.ied. Mr. Murphy was asked to notify the present physician. Mr. Murphy said he had nothing else under old business to present to the Board,, ' 4 sel. Term discussed with the Board the mail . situation in the .Town of Mashpee, He stated that he did- not know if the Selectmen could do anything. Mr. -Murphy said that the Board- could meet with Mr. Samuelson, as he is .the Regional'-Manager. chm* a-rland said that Mr. Samuelson' was very cooperative when. he. was discussion the pro- blem. of having the mail delivered. from Mashpe - instead of wa luoit. Sel. Hanson said that a letter should be seat setting up, an appoint-- .ment with Mr. Samuelson. He also stated that the problem might be that the post office sloes not have enough manpower. chm. Garland said that they may not have enough room. NEW BUSINESS 1 . Board reviewed -a letter from the -Barnstable county Commissioners relative to our representative not attending meetings . Board said they would. discus s this matter with Mr. Benway.. . On the letter from Mr. Finnegin the state Auditor, Mr, Murphy said this was to advise the Board that Mr. F'inngin' s office would be paying the town $135 for the cost o-f' opening the polls at ,a.r . This opening of the pll.s was mandated y -the- state and they have o pay for the increase in cost to the towns. Mr. Murphy said that this amount could be spent without appropriations-. Chat. Garland questioned the fact that the- money- was to be put into the General Fund and expended without appropriation. Mr. Murphy said that , chin. Garland was correct but this is going into a special Account., . On the letter from Mr. Frank Homeyer requesting that Mrs. B. Jean - Thomas he appointed to any future position on the Mshpee Housing Authority, Mr, Murphy said that there are no openings at this time except for the one that needs to he filled by the State and that is an elected office. chm. Garland said- the letter should be filed and acknowledged. Board concurred. . M . Murphy explained his request for an article for'.the annual town meeting warrant relative to a propos'ed aquifer protection district'.
