Mr. Murphy_, Executive Secretary explained <br /> that he had received a verbal: answer 'from. the Army Corps of Engineers <br /> saying that they would not dredge the Popponsset Bay but the town <br /> has not received- a 'written reply. <br /> Mr. Murphy also explained that he has been trying to set up a meeting . <br /> between the Array Corps of Engineers and the Oceanographic Institute <br /> but there is a problem with that. A meeting was planned. for PlarCh <br /> 28th but the Army Corps ol E-n ineer - cannot make that date. <br /> Chm. Garland suggested that Mr. Hollander make the determination on <br /> whether to have the people from the Oceanographic Institute come <br /> on March 28th or to pursue trying to get beth parties present at <br /> the meeting. <br /> On the request for a Copy of Town Counsel' s letter regarding the <br /> Mashpee By-Laws., Mr. Murphy said that we have not received the <br /> letter as yet. <br /> On the request that Mrs. Donna Meaffer be appointed to their <br /> Commission if she submits a letter of interest to the Board, Mr. <br /> Murphy said we have not received a letter from her yep.. <br /> Board asked that Mrs. Vernice Polka be asked to Cone to the meeting <br /> to discuss her memorandum of Accounting -Department Department l eor ani ation. <br /> While the Board was waiting, Set, Terror asked about the beach <br /> stir ers ' and how .that was coming along. Mr-. Murphy said that this <br /> would- be on next week' s s agenda. <br /> el. Terry also asked if the meeting had -been set to discuss the <br /> postal service. Executive Secretary said that he was still working <br /> on this. <br /> NEW BUSINESS :- <br /> 1. n the request of the Civil. Defense Director, Mr, Charles Hies, <br /> to move the world- 'Tear II Memorial Tablet from the old town hall <br /> to the police/fire complex, the Board approved his request. <br /> Town Account, Vernice P 1 a arrived. <br /> Executive Secretary, Joseph Murphy,. stated that this wads going , <br /> to be on the agenda for next wee] . Set. Terror said that he is <br /> not ready to- answer .this now. He suggests this memorandum be <br /> put on the Administrative Meeting to be discussed at that time. <br /> Mrs . 'Polka said that this -was fine with .her as lona as she Could <br /> put it on the Annual Town Meeting and time was getting very close. <br /> Board agreed that this should be discussed at the Administrative <br /> Meeting on Tuesday. <br /> f <br />
