BOARD OF SELECTMEN MINUTES WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 23 , 1985 PRESENT; Selectman Terry, Selectman Thomas and Executive Secretary, J-oseph F. Murphy (Selectman Hanson onvacation) GUESTS: Delores Kong, Judy Howell , Chief of Police, Sergeant Cooper, several members of family and friends. Selectman Terry convened the meeting at 7-p.m. , at Lhis time the regular meeting agenda was suspended to conduct a promotional ceremony, Selectman Thomas moved to appoint Maurice Cooper Jr. as Deputy Police Chief . Selectman Terry seconded. Motion carried. Chief Frye cited the growth of the department and pointed out the why Maurice Cooper was the best man for this position. Deputy Chief Cooper was presented with his badge, stars and hat. Mrs. Cooper pinned the badge. The meeting recessed for a coffee and cake celebration. f Meeting resumed regular business at 7:35 pv'm Selectman Thomas moved to accept the minutes of January 14th admini t.rative meeting, .January 16th regular meeting and executive session. Selectman Thomas asked that all minutes be signed. OLD BUSINESS 1 . Selectmen were a'sled to sign the amended agreement between the Town and Weston and Sampson. Selectman Thomas moved to sign the agreement. Selectman Terry seconded, Motion carried. . Selectmen received a memorandum from the Personnel Board recommending the upgrading of senior clerk to principal clerk in the office of Board of Health. I Mr. Murphy pointed out that this would be retro -active to January 1 , 1985 a requested by the Board of Health. - Selectman Thomas mored to upgrade the position of senior clerk to principal clerk retro—active to January 1, 1955. Selectman Terry seconded. Motion carried, . Selectman Thomas asked that the Historical Commission get together with Mr. Coombs to discuss the schedule of events.
