A � 5 J OLD BUSINESS (continued) Selectmen were notified by the Executive Office of Environmental Affairs that the application for funding under the Coastal Facilities Improvement Program CF1P for the e onsett Boat Channel- Disposal Area Restoration proposal did not qualify. Being no further old business the Board moved on to new business. NEW BUSINESS 1. Selectmen received a request from the Alcoholic 'Beverages Control Commission to estIm' a" .eh-t.he seasonal population of Mashpee as of July 10, 1985. Upon information received from the Town Planner Selectmen voted to estimate the seasonal population at 20,815. . Selectmen were asked to authorize an additional four days compensatory time for Doug Boyd. Nor. Murphy pointed out that fir. Boyd has taken 80 hours compensatory time to date which is the maximum allowed under the PAP. ,He went on to explain that Mr. Boyd is operating without an assistant and has been instructed by the -Selectmen to attend all Board of Appeals meetings as well as Design Review meetings. Selectman Thomas asked if the Executive Secretary should grant this where he appoints this position. i i 'down Counsel pointed out that it specifically states in the PAP that the Board of Selectmen have this authority. Mr. Murphy informed the Board that a change has been made in Chapter 363 of the Acts of 1984 which would change the appointing authority of the building Inspector, . Selectmen received from the Executive Secretary a summary of bids open doon January 25, 1985 to supply the town with 1 ,0,00 copies of -the 1984 town report,. Selectman Thomas moved to accept the bid ofOn-Cape Lithographers Inc. at the price of $3,922. Selectman Terry seconded. All were in favor. +. Selectmen received a memorandum from Chief Hartin informing thea that the brush breaker will need a new engine. Chief Hartin will submit an article after he goes out to bid on this matter. . Chief Hartin also informed the Board that he has appointed a new firefighter, Mr. Byron Eldridge of Wareham to fill this position. Selectman Thomas asked if the Beard would be meeting this new person. Mr. Murphy pointed out they would along with the Lieutenants.
