i <br /> Flo. <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> ITE <br /> WEDNESDAY, MAY 89 1985 <br /> Present: Selectman Thomas, Selectman Hansom, Executive secretary, Joseph F. Murphy <br /> and Town Counsel , Joseph J. Reardon <br /> Guests: Monica McNally, Vernon Thomas, Virginia Landry , Clair Lavin, Arlene Hoxie <br /> and several members of the Popponesset Beach Association (see the attached <br /> list) <br /> Selectman Hanson convened the meeting at 7 p.m. <br /> Appointments & Hearings <br /> p.m. - Ms. Lavin requested to be placed on the agenda to discuss a home which is <br /> being built next to her which is in possible violation of the zoning by-laws. <br /> Selectmen asked council for applicable authority of Selectmen as to the zoning. <br /> Council informed the Board that they have none. Mr. Reardon also pointed out that <br /> haptter 40A, Section 8 specifies any person is aggrieved by permits granted by . <br /> the Building Inspector or not granted, may appeal the decision of the Building <br /> Inspector to the Board of Appeals, . t which time the Board of Appeals can review <br /> the complaint. <br /> Mr. Boyd informed the Board that Mr. Campbell is applying to the Board of Appeals. <br /> Mrs. Lavin asked selectmen to vote unanimously to support on her behalf to bring <br /> .his problem to the Board of Appeals. <br /> Selectman Hanson spore to the fact of certifying foundations. <br /> The Building I�ispector will prepare a letter advising Mr. Campbell that he -has one <br /> week to file with the Board of Appeals or court action -will be taken. <br /> Selectmen agreed that the Board of Appeals should have the authority to hire ars <br /> Engineer to have this matter investigated. -. <br /> Selectman Thomas moved to allow the Board of Appeals to expend funds to obtain <br /> Engineering services for this matter, Selectman Hanson seconded. All were in favor, <br /> Mr. Murphy as.-directed by the Board to advise the Board of Appeals of the availability <br /> of funds. <br /> Old Business <br /> I. Selectmen were notified by the Chief of Police that he agreed with the Personnel <br /> Board on the recommendation of full-time dispatcher. <br /> Selectman Thomas roved to appoint Glen Hebert as full-time dispatcher. Selectman <br /> Hanson seconded. All were in favor, <br /> . Selectmen were advised of a joint meeting with the Finance Committee on Tue day <br /> and Wednesday of next week. - <br />
