The Design Review Committee advised the Selectmen that they were happy to take <br /> n the awarding authority for the best aesthetic improvement but asked for $ 0 <br /> to cover the costs. <br /> Selectman Thomas feels they sh Ul d reach out to the community for donations. <br /> Selectmen asked Mr. Murphy to communicate with the- Design l view Committee and see <br /> if they would look into having a certificate printed instead .of using plaques. <br /> 4. Selectman Thomas requested permission from Beard members to sit down with the <br /> John' s Pond Park Comthittee and the Conservation Commission to discuss a management <br /> plan for the self—help programs and report back to selectmen. <br /> Selectman Hanson agreed nd- felt 'it wa lk a good- idea. <br /> 5. Selectmen were notified by- the Executive Secretary that in order to exempt former <br /> prisoners of war from motor vehicle excise taxes it would take a torn-meeting vote. <br /> Selectmen asked that Thr. Murphy communicate with Mr. Pettus and inform hien of the <br /> process and that an article will be placed on the 1986 annual town Meeting warrant. <br /> . Mr. Murphy explained to the Board that the Finance Committee had refused the request <br /> of the police department for a transfer for the construction of the kennel for the 'K-9. <br /> Selectmen agreed to speak to the Fihance Committee. <br /> 7. Selectman Thomas submitted a newly revised version of the ACEC article. After <br /> discussion to clearify the situation of the original version being submitted to the <br /> Planning Board for advertisement the Board agreed to submit this. version in place of <br /> the other one, <br /> New Business <br /> 1. The Board reviewed the report of Malone and Tandler and asked Mr. Murphy to schedule <br /> an administrative meeting with the proper department heads to discuss this report. <br /> . Off icer Hendric i; rought to the Board' s attention the plans to have May 25, 1985 <br /> National Missing Children' Day.- She also pointed out a s'afety program ceremong at <br /> Bobby Byrne' s Pub on this day and a ed 'th.at the Selectmen attend. <br /> Selectmen Thomas and Hanson are planning to attend. <br /> . Selectmen received from the Police Department general and special orders for the <br /> Board' s approval . <br /> Selectmen deferred action until next. Wednesday , May 15, 1985. <br /> Being no further business the Board went into executive session to discuss a land <br /> acquisition.
