Old Business (continued) <br /> 4. Selectman discussed the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new lighted basketball <br /> courts. Also discussed was. the basketball game between the DPW and Recreation <br /> and Selectmen' s office. ' It was agreed that Mr. Terry would play basketball <br /> and Mrs. Thomas would cut the ribbon. <br /> .5. The Burd discussed the memo from chief Frye and Deputy chief Cooper relative <br /> to the salary of special police officer' s. Chief Frye requested an increase <br /> from $5:92 to $6.12 per hour. <br /> Selectman Thomas moved to approve the request of Chief Frye and Deputy chief <br /> Cooper making the rate of pay for special pol ice. officer' s $6.12 per hour. <br /> Selectman Terry seconded._ Motion carried. <br /> A memo of concurrence will be forwarded to the Personnel Board. <br /> New Business <br /> 1. Mr. William Peters, Jr. Manager of Deer Crossing Market Corporation requested <br /> one clay permit to have an outdoor wine tasting. Selectmen had no problem <br /> with granting this permit but asked that Mr. Peters obtain a police officer <br /> for this event. <br /> 2. Selectmen received a request from the Shellfish Constable to change three <br /> of the shellfish regulations. Mr. Murphy pointed out it would be necessary <br /> to hold a public hearing before any changes could be made. <br /> Selectmen authorized the scheduling of a p'ublic hearing at the convenience. <br /> of the shellfish constable, <br /> . Selectmen received a letter from francs Brown requesting the removal of <br /> a catamaran from the beach at Maushop Village which apparently has been <br /> abandoned. <br /> Selectman Thomas asked that this be turned over to the Harbormaster for <br /> his investigation. <br /> . Selectmen received general orders of the polio departmentfor their review <br /> and approval. <br /> Selectman Thomas moved to approve---Genera I order — Traffic Lasa Enforcement, <br /> use of Sobriety Checkpoints for O.U.I. Enforcement and Arrests Involving <br /> Driving While Intoxicated. As well as Special order — douse officer, <br /> Assignment and Duties-pending town -counsel review. Selectman Terry seconded. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Appointments and Bearings <br /> : o — Selectmen ret with the auditors and department heads to discuss the audit. <br />
