Murphy <br /> Absent: Selectman Hanson <br /> Guests; Adelard Lacoutukre, Deane Beggs, William Bryant, Elizabeth Petti , Monica McNally, <br /> Vernon Thomas , Ernest Virgilio, Curtis W. Frye, Richard Cook, Donald Cool, <br /> Thomas Sexton, Jerry DePalmer, Michael Makuna , Karen Walden, Steve Van T1 , <br /> Susan Ian Tol , Eddie Foley r <br /> Selectman Thomas moved to approve the minutes of September 3, 1955 administrative <br /> meeting. Selectman Terror seconded. Motion carried. <br /> Appointments & Hearings <br /> 7:00 Mr. dares Allick re: Renewal of Taxicab Permit - Mr. Allick was in to explain <br /> to the Beard his reasons for granting to continue his business. He stated that <br /> his first y�_ar was slow to medium. That he advertised on the radio and news- <br /> .paper. <br /> e s- <br /> _paper. ibis main business has been proms and weddings. Mr. Allick also <br /> presented to the Board a flyer outlining his business and where he can be <br /> reached a copy of which is attached. <br /> Being no further questions and no.- one present for or against Selectman Thomas <br /> moved to extend the permit for Mr. Allick until December 31, 1956. Selectman <br /> Terry seconded. Motion carried. <br /> 7:15 - Mr. Vernon.,,,.of the Shellfish o mmission re: Scallop _Regulations - Mr. Thomas <br /> presented the Board with a packet pertaining to four subjects from the Sher <br /> fish Commission. The first subject was the resignation of Cheryl Ann Campanale <br /> as Assistant Shellfish Warden. The Commission recommends that Adam Burtis be <br /> appointed to replace Ms. Campanal . <br /> Selectman Thomas moved to appoint Adam Burtis as Assistant Shell f ish garden <br /> with term to expire March 31 , 1986. Selectman Terry seconded, Motion carried, <br /> Mr. 'Phomas also asked the Board to respond to the issue of fences that extend <br /> beyond the high and low water mark and impede fishing and fowling as well as <br /> excess to the areailong the shrine f Popponcsset Bay: <br /> Selectman Thomas asked that the files be searched to see if an opinion has <br /> been rendered by Town Counsel on this subject if not ask hist to do so. <br /> Mr. Thomas informed the Board that a public hearing was held on Monday relative <br /> to scallop regulations. A copy of the regulations were submitted to the Board <br /> : as well as a stipulation that any grant holder be given a restricted shellfish <br /> permit. <br /> Mr. Murphy pointed out that the scallop regulations would have to be published <br /> and ar public hearing held. <br /> Selectmen agreed to publish the regulations in the September loth edition of <br /> the Enterprise and hold a hearing on Wednesday, September 18th. <br />
