Murphy <br /> Guests: Michael Pietrows i, Adelard LacoutuEre, Vernon Thomas, Bob Maxim, Deane Beggs, <br /> William Bryant, George benway, Peter Lawrence, John Umina, Richard Cook <br /> Selectman Terry convened' the meeting of - September 18, 1985 at 7 p.m. <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> Selectman Thomas moved to accept the minutes of the September 6, emergency meeting <br /> and the September 11, regular meeting. Selectman Terry seconded. Motion carried <br /> Appointments & Hearings <br /> .7:00 - Scheduled for this time was the introduction of new personnel of the Fire <br /> Department. The Board was advised by Mr. Murphy, that the Chief asked to <br /> d ferr this until all new personnel returned from training. <br /> Old Business <br /> 1. The Board received communication relative to holding a special election on December 7,. <br /> 1985 regarding a ballot question for debt exclusion for the Mashpee River. <br /> Selectman Thomas asked If the amount of money should be specified. Mr. Murphy pointed <br /> out that according. to the general law you do not need to specify the amount. � <br /> Selectman Thomas moved that 'the Board of Selectmen ask that a special election be <br /> conducted on Saturday , December 7, 1985 and that on the election ballot the following } <br /> question be inserted. "Shall the Torn of Mashpee be allowed to exempt from the <br /> provisions of Proposition two and one-half , so-called, the amounts required to <br /> pay for the bond issued its order to acquire for conservation purposes a l'l , or the <br /> majority, of a parcel of lana of 250.4 plus or rhinus acres generally described <br /> as on the east side of the Mashpee liver between Route 28 and the Pirates Cove <br /> subdivision and boardered on the east side by imon's Narrows and Mas pee Neck <br /> Road." Selectman Hansom seconded. All were in favor. <br /> Selectman Hanson advised that after reading the article proposed to obtain the <br /> Mahpee Diver Property he would withdraw his request for an article to acquire <br /> the property using town funds only. <br /> 2. Selectmen reviewed a communication from the Board 'of Health relative to a trailer <br /> permit issued on May 29, 1985 to Vincent Labll while he re-constructed his hone <br /> damaged by fire. The Board of Health reports that Mr. Labella nearer received approval <br /> of the Health Department which was a condition of the permit. <br /> i <br /> Mr. Murphy pointed out the permit was never picked up. <br /> Selectmen voted to revoke the permit and asked that the Board of Health and Mr. Lab lla <br /> be notified of their action. <br /> . Selectman Thomas advised the- public that the SEMASS contract has been signed by <br /> the town. <br />
