7 <br /> I <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> minutes <br /> ednesdy, October 30, 1985 <br /> P a e 2. <br /> New Business (continued) <br /> Selectmen asked that this be scheduled for a Tuesday morning administrative <br /> meeting. <br /> Selectmen rec4ved a communication from the Rock Landing Park Associates advising <br /> the Board that the New Seabury orp'oraticn has been issued a building permit by the <br /> Town for construction of a swimming pool in the vicinity of the Popponesset Inn <br /> parking lot. They also advised that this planned construction is in violation of <br /> the restictions imposed on the Popponesset and New Seabury Corporations. <br /> Selectman Terry advised there was no action necessary. <br /> Selectman Hanson stated he is familiar with the plan and -this does not come within <br /> the boundaries of the parking lot. <br /> 4 The Board received a memo from the Executive Secretary recommending they communicate <br /> to the Personnel Board asking they waiver the probationary period of Mrs. Sandra Peters <br /> for benefit purposes. Mr. Murphy felt the Board should give consideration to the <br /> time she spent as a full—time employee earlier and to the fact she was a parttime <br /> employee at the time of her hiring. <br /> Selectman Hanson moved to waive the probationary period of Mrs. Peters.. Selectman <br /> Thomas seocnded. All were in favor,, <br /> Selectmen recieved a request from New Seabury Corporation for a permit to conduct <br /> a Christmas Parade on December 14 with a rain date on December 15th. The parade <br /> will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Deer Crossing, proceed down Route 28, around the Mashpee <br /> Rotary, down Route 151 and end at the New Seabury ShoppingCenter. w <br /> Selectman Thomas mvoed to allow the Christmas Parade. Selectman Hanson seconded. <br /> All were in favor. Selectman Hanson moved,: to+l.waive the fee for the permit, Selectman <br /> Thomas seconded. All were in favor. <br /> Selectman Hanson asked about the petition for the moritcrium. He asked where the <br /> petitioner failed to submit a plan would this still be valid. Selectman Terry stated <br /> that the town still has to go ahead with the public hearing with the planning board. <br /> Selectman Hanson asked if consideration should be given to this as is with defects <br /> as it will effect ars entire community. He is concerned with the liability to the Town. <br /> Selectman Hanson would like to see the Board of Health and Building Inspector not <br /> Lake any action until December 2 special- town meeting. <br /> Selectman Thomas asked the Board to consider the holiday schedule. The Board agreed <br /> to meet on November 27 at 8 a.m. for business, -not have a business meeting the week <br /> of Christmas but the Selectmen would independently to sign the warrant and on <br /> December 31 have an a.m. meeting. <br /> Being no further business the meeting adjourned at p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> /y 1 <br /> oyce M.
