s <br /> • <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> m1nutt s <br /> Wednesday, November 20, 1985 <br /> page 3. <br /> New Business (continued) <br /> 7 The Chief of Police recommended that Gail MacDonald, Edward Slevin and Paul <br /> aleriani receive a step increase as there job performance has been satisfactory, <br /> Selectman 'Thomas moved to grant the step increases for the three individuals. <br /> Selectman Hanson seconded.. A11 were in favor,, <br /> Selectmen received from the Deputy Chief of Police three general orders and <br /> three special orders for the Boards approval . <br /> Selectman "Phomas moved to approve the orders pending review by town counsel . <br /> Selectman Hanson seconded. All were in favor. <br /> Appointment Heari <br /> 7; - Selectman Term explained that the purpose was to give everyone a better <br /> picture relative to the Mashp e River Project . , Setetftman Ferry explained that <br /> the proposal is for 2.50.4 acres along the East side of the Mashpee River.r. The <br /> appraisal for this property was $6 million and would be used for Conservation and <br /> Recreation purposes. Selectman Term said that the purchase price was reduced <br /> by the Seller to $4,050,000 wi Lh 2 million dollars coming from Self-Help funds and <br /> $200,000 from Land & Water Conservation Acquisition Fund, and $500,000 from the <br /> Department of Environmental Management. This would mean a cost of $193579000 to <br /> the 'Town. Selectman Terry alio pointed out that the Department of Environmental <br /> Management would be asking for - o acres in return for the $500,000. After <br /> mach discussion it was felt that the townspeople should be given the 6ption to <br /> - r hale the sham that DEM wants as well . <br /> - Attorney George Hewitt ways in asking the Board to sign a Waiver Certificate <br /> which world allow FIFA to Insure Northeast Masonry Supply, Inc. who would like <br /> to build a manufacturing block producing plant on echo Road. <br /> Selectman Manson moved to adopt the IDFA waiver Certificate. Selectman 'Terry seconded. <br /> All were in favor. <br /> 8-030 - Mr. Vernon Thomas of the Shellfish Commis -ton was ire to request that the Selectmen <br /> accept the letter of resignation rotn Adam Burbis and appoint Earl Cash to fill the <br /> vacancy. <br /> Selectman Manson moved to accept the resignation of Adam Burtis and appoint Earl Cash <br /> as assistant shellfish warden. Selectman Term seconded. All were in favor,, <br /> Mr. 'Thomas pointed- out that he hoped to open the oyster beds this Sunday.. <br /> Being no further business the meeting adjourned at p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Oce M.
