f 4 <br /> f <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES r <br /> WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 279 1985 <br /> Present: Selectman Thomas, Selectman Hanson, Selectman Terry and Executive Secretary <br /> Joseph F. Murphy <br /> Guests: Carol Costa-Crowell , Mr. Callis <br /> Selectman Thomas convened the meeting at 8 a.m. <br /> Selectman Hanson moved to accept the minutes of the november 20 regular meeting. <br /> Appointments & Hearings <br /> 8:00 - Selectmen held a public hearing on a commercial shellfish permit held by <br /> Mr. Callis. <br /> Mr. Callis was issue a commercial shellfish permit in error as he is not a Mahpee <br /> resident and the shellfish regulations state that you must be domiciled within the <br /> Town. <br /> Mr. Callis stated he was given the permit in error and he did not lie about his <br /> residence. <br /> Selectman Thomas pointed out she was at fault as she was asked if he should receive <br /> one and thought nothing wrong with issuing hien one. <br /> Selectman Hanson moved to revoke the shellfish license issued to Mr. Callis. Selectman <br /> Thomas seconded. Motion carried. <br /> 8:06 - Selectmen met with Doug Boyd to discuss the position of assistant building <br /> inspector. <br /> Mr. Boyd said he felt their was a need for a full-time building inspector. He also <br /> submitted to the Selectmen revised job descriptions for the building inspector and <br /> as -L Stant building i,nspe t or. <br /> Mr. Murphy stated that with the new job descriptions as submitted it would take <br /> abort a year to go through the proper procedure as the job description would mean <br /> a charge in the PAP. <br /> Selectman Terry asked Mr. Boyd to work on the job description and pass it throughout. <br /> the Board of Appeals, Planning Board and Personnel Board, <br /> Selectman Thomas requested this be pint on the agenda for the December 10th adminitratiire <br /> meeting at which time all parties should be invited. It was agreed to have this on <br /> the regular meeting of December li. <br /> 8:30 - Ernie Virgilio was in to request the Selectmen approve his need to expend <br /> $1,200 from the Snow and Ic'e account for a rebuilt engine in the truck /sander 8.' <br /> Mr. Murphy pointed out the Finance Committee is not recommending Mr. Virgilio's <br /> request for additional funds for this account at the special town meeting. H <br /> further stated that Mr. Virgilio had not requested as much as the previous year to <br /> begin with and therefor feels this expenditure could cause a problem. Mr. Murphy <br /> stated he would rather see this come from the DPW expense account -as here i <br /> enough money in this account. <br />
