i <br /> i Board of Selectmen <br /> minutes <br /> Wednesday, November 27, 1985 <br /> p a <br /> New Business continued <br /> 4 Appro"al was requested of the Board of Selectmen for two requests--f.or transfer <br /> for the Out of Mate travel -account. one- request was for reimbursement of the } <br /> expense of a plane ticket for Lt. Robert Long to attend the NationAl. Fire Academy <br /> and the other was reimbursement of thepenses for the Selectmen' s secretaries <br /> to attend a seminar in Providence R.T. <br /> Selectman Hanson moved to approve the requests. Selectman Thomas seconded. All <br /> were in favor. <br /> The DPW Director requested the Selectmen to authorize the expenditure of $150 <br /> from the Emergency repairs to Private Roads account for the- clearing .o.f drains <br /> on Forest Drive. <br /> Selectman Thomas moved to authorize the expenditure of $150 to clean the basins <br /> on Forest Drive. Selectman Hanson seconded. All were in favor. <br /> 7 Selectman Thomas asked that the Selectman not act on the request of CCB&T to <br /> insert an article for the annual town meet-ing -to raise and appropriate $2, 500 to <br /> be spent under the direction of the Planning Board for the studying of affordable <br /> housing needs. Mrs. Thomas advised the Board that the Planning Commission will <br /> be sending letters to a11= Planting Boards asking that they pool together and <br /> work on something for all of Cape Cod. <br /> The Town Clerk .advised the Board that the Cub Scouts have requested permission <br /> to participate in the opening -of the . ecial Town Meeting and she has received <br /> permission from the moderator. Mrs. Labute asked if there was a State and Town <br /> flag available, Selectman Thomas suggested the school -for the State flag. <br /> 9 Selectmen were advised by the Town Clerk that the Town will be responsible <br /> for appointment of a Sealer of Weights and Measure- but until the Secretary files <br /> the Census figures for 1985 we will have to contact Charles Carroll and they <br /> will send a person to Mashpee. <br /> Selectmen aske'd that the surrounding town' s be contacted and ask if they ars <br /> interested in sharing a Seater of Weights and Measure. <br /> 10elecLmen received a letter of thanks from the Department of Public Health <br /> during the investigation of cancer mortality and incidence and adverse births <br /> in the upper cape area. <br /> 11 Selectmen received a request from Donna Bleth n, President of Ma loclner' s <br /> to allow the closing of Ma lockner' s from November 24, 1985 to February 6, 1986 <br /> to allow redecorating. Selectman Thoi..as moved to approve the request, Selectman <br /> Hanson seconded. All were in favor. <br /> Selectman Thomas also advised the Board that the Selectmen' s Association meeting <br /> will be held at Ma- loclner' s on December 20. <br /> 12 The Selectmen were notified by the Deputy Chief of approval of a $3,000 <br /> grant for Drunk Driver Enforcement'. <br />
