Board of Selectmen <br /> minutes <br /> Wednesday, December 4, 1985 <br /> page 24 <br /> Appointments Hearin <br /> 7:15 - Selectmen received from tdward Mitchell d/b/a The Wigwam a letter requesting <br /> to charge the hours of operatibn which would mean that he closes at midnight. He <br /> also stated he waived any hearing that .may be -necessary. <br /> Selectman Thomas moved to grant permission for The Wigwam to close at midnight. <br /> Selectman Hanson seconded. All were in favor. <br /> At this time Chief of Police Curtis- Frye asked to withdraw the complaint= of the <br /> Police Department. <br /> New Business <br /> 2 The Department ofR'e'venue notified the town that under the Revenue Enhancement <br /> and Protection Act passed by the Massachusetts General Court, effective July 1, 1983, <br /> requires local licensing authorities to obtain a. tatemen't that all returns and <br /> taxes due to the Commonwealth have .been paid before a license may be renewed. <br /> Mr. Murphy pointed out the letter, was received after renewal affidavits were seat <br /> out and therefore too late. <br /> Selectmen' asked that the Department of Ivenue be .advised of this. <br /> The Town Accountant advised the Beard that under Section 3 , Chapter 233 the <br /> Department of Revenue requires the 'Town to file ars annual report indicating <br /> individuals -or companies who have been paid $5,000 or more within the f1scal <br /> year. She further stated that to do this it would cost: -the -Town -$500 to hire <br /> additional personnel for her office- to compile- the information needed. <br /> Selectmen asked that the Department be notified that under the requirements of <br /> the State has not provided funds and theref-ore until funds are received the <br /> town cannot comply with their request. <br /> 4 Selectmen received notification from the New Seabury Inn and Country Club <br /> of closing from January 6 to January 24 for refurbishing. Selectmen acknowledged <br /> receipt. <br /> Select-men received notification from the Quashnet Valley Country Club of <br /> closing for the month-of January 1986. Selectmen acknowledged receipt. <br /> Selectman Thomas moved to appoint Joan A. Ta,�-va'res to the Mash.pee Youth <br /> Commission for a two year term. Se l.ectman Hanson seconded.
