r_ - <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Wednesday, August 6 , 1986 <br /> Regular MeetinO P , <br /> Old Business <br /> l The Board received a letter from the Mashpee Lioness Club regarding <br /> fund-raising event and asked if any permits were necessary . :The <br /> Board didn ' t feel any were needed and Mr. Murphy will send them <br /> letter df such . <br /> 2 Selectman Lawrence roved to postpone the appointment of a member <br /> on the Council on Aging until it ' s posted, selectman Thomas seconded <br /> and it was a vote . Mr . Murphy will post the notice with a deadline <br /> of September 15 and request the Council, on Aging place it in their <br /> newsletter. <br /> 3) The, Board received ars estimated cost of the equipment needed, by <br /> the DPW Director as, requested by the Board . The cost was $120,000. ' <br /> The article will be considered in next week ' s review. *� <br /> 4 ) The Board received a letter from Barbara and stanel r Murray of <br /> Brickyard Road regarding parking their road . Also received was a <br /> recommendation from the DPW Director, The Board concurred with his <br /> recommendation and -asked that a. copy be sent to the Murrays , <br /> 5) <br /> The Board r ecie-ved a... memo from the Civil Defense Director. who grants <br /> a used cruiser transferred to his 'department . selectman Lawrence moved <br /> that based on the Deputy 's co=ents that the request of the Civil <br /> Defense Director be denied. Selectman Thomas seconded and it was a <br /> vote . Mr . Murphy said. he would like to recondition one of the <br /> police cruiser's to be used by the Health Agent and, a. - second one re- <br /> conditioned to be shared by the Assistant Health Agent and Assistant <br /> Building Inspector. The Board agreed to this and Mr. Murphy will <br /> place an article on the September 22 soecia.l town meeting warrant <br /> i <br /> for the money . to recondition thea. <br /> 6 The Board deferred acting on a. memo submitted by the Police Chief <br /> regarding Special Police officer Compensation. <br /> Selectman Thomas inquired about Dr. ubrey ' s contract . Attorney Reardon <br /> said the cont--,act is fine and he seat it back to her and asked Just <br /> to ' substitute the amount of $9 ,000 instead of $6 ,,000 . Selectman Thomas <br /> asked lir. Murphy if he could have it ready for the meeting on Friday <br /> and Mr . Murphy said yes , however it needs to be accepted^ i.n writing <br /> by Mr. Hannon since- they ' re using s t t e ' money . They will have hire <br /> look it- over on Friday . <br /> The Board cancelled their Water Commission meeting scheduled for <br /> August 8 and rescheduled it' for August 11 at' : oo a.m. Town Counsel <br /> will be present and .they will need a. secretary . <br /> New Business <br /> l The Board received a memo II .L om the Executive Sec retary to authorize <br /> the hiring o f haul McLaughlin a Clerk f the Works s for the library , <br /> Mr. �' ur h� sa.ld a draft of the clerk o f tie forks contract was forwarded <br /> to At u-orney Reardon . The Board deferred the hiring until they receive <br /> a. recommendation' from the Library Building Committee . <br />
