They received a letter back from Fields Point- <br /> saying <br /> oint sayin+ that they do not own anything; New Seabury Corp . didn"t <br /> say they didn- t own anything but they want to fora a district ; <br /> and Popponesset Beach Association has private roads which they . <br /> want to remain private . They sent there a letter saying if they <br /> are not dept up , they might have to send their emergency vehicles <br /> in different directions. Bel . Lawrence asked if there are r:.y <br /> emergency funds available for fixing private roads' <br /> Ernie Virgilio said that there is $5,000 in the emergency road <br /> account . The process is that a private road owner makes a <br /> request to the Board of Selectmen , The Board of Selectmen the <br /> sena him out to establish i f there is an emergency repair and i <br /> the town can afford to repair it as they only have so much money <br /> to spend on emergency repairs with 314 miles of private roads, <br /> Mr . Virgilio cor ented that repair work cannot be continuous in <br /> the same area, In 1982, 1983, 1984, and 1985, the town spent a <br /> total of $15,857,59 in the Popponesse area. <br /> Bel . La rrence said that there seems to�confusion relative to the <br /> article on Monday's Special Town Meeting warrant which allows a <br /> mechanism for somebody to ask for their road to be taken, He <br /> asked if the D.P.W. would have a right to take the roads?
