1 <br /> a <br /> i <br /> Board of Sel Mi n u t e <br /> Meeting of October 8, 1986 <br /> October 23 at 10:30 of , in the Selectmen's office . <br /> The Executive Secretary pointed out that Mark Forest of <br /> Congressman Studd's office said that the attorney for the regional <br /> office oi EPA will attend. He asked if the Selectmen planned to <br /> attend' Sel . Lawrence indicated that he would be there , Sel . <br /> Thomas said that she plans to attend. <br /> SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE <br /> The Board of Selectmen reviewed a letter dated October 2 from the <br /> Superintendent of Schools, Joseph Nicholson , requesting to meet in <br /> executive e ion for the purpose of reviewing the architect's <br /> contract and to offer whatever assistance they can provide. <br /> Chairman Hanson said that he would entertain a notion to move into <br /> executive session to discuss the architect's contract . He asked <br /> if anyone present had any other business as he did not know if the <br /> Board would reconvene in open session . <br /> member of the Mashpee Teacher's Association said that they would <br /> l i e to settle the differences between town hall and the school <br /> committee and get the building go f rig. She asked ed that they do it <br /> in the spirit of cooperationS <br /> el . Hanson said that he had hoped that they did not think they <br /> were doing anything to delay the progress of the school . There i <br /> ars issue which has to be resolved between the Selectmen and the <br /> architect . The Board o4 Selectmen has done nothing in any manner <br />_. r any means to even consider stalling progress on the school nor <br /> will it . <br /> gentleman from the School Building Committee asked if it was <br /> permi sabl a for members of the school committee to be present <br /> during exec t i e session . Sel . Hanson said that he did not have <br /> any objection , The Executive Secretary said that he was not sure <br /> if there were grounds for executive e ion . Motion to go into <br /> executive e cion was withdrawn . <br /> Reference was made to a letter to Mr . Murphy from Dori Hisaka <br /> regarding a few issues with the contract on how to be reimbursed <br /> for extra services. The Executive Secretarsa Mr. Murphy, said <br /> that there were outstanding issues involved i the the contract <br /> which were resolved. Two outstanding issues: # . the construction <br /> cost estimating wh i chi a compromise was arrived at and 2. the cost <br /> for additional work which has to be performed. Town Council <br /> presented the Selectmen with three options in which the Selectmen <br /> selected an option, executed a contract and forwarded to H i a s, <br />
