Bd. of Sel . Minutes <br /> Meeting of October 12, 1986 <br /> School Bu i l d i ng Comm i cont . <br /> Mr . Hisaka declined to sign the contract and responded to the <br /> Selectmen on September 23 disagreeing wi t h the option t h e <br /> Selectmen selected. He brought up another matter of concern in <br /> the contract which had not been raised earlier . Upon receiving <br /> the letter , the Executive Secretary said that he forwarded it to <br /> Town Council and the Building Committee for recommendations, The <br /> Building Committee wanted to meet with the Selectmen immediately <br /> and resolve these issues, Town Council -'s letter arrived today. <br /> He basically gave three options and it was not a legal ratter <br /> involving construction . It was a policy matter involving the <br /> Board and Mr . Hi a s* Council is not sure what Mr . Hisaka i <br /> talking about in making reference to any material change and scope <br /> f service . <br /> Dr . Nicholson aid that the Building Comm i t tee has some discussion <br /> n the subject today, In Hisaka- s first recommendations, he gave <br /> three options -- one of those three options was to award 1 .3 tires <br /> personnel costs for additional services that were performed by the <br /> architect . That one was chosen by the Selectmen and forwarded t <br /> the architect who stated in a letter that the general agreements <br /> between architects and communities is 1 .3 . for personnel <br /> costs be awarded. At his request , Dr. Nicholson l i eyed it _a <br /> at 2,35 and he currently aid 1 .3. <br /> Dr . Nicholson said that he looked into i t . He talked about it <br /> u i th another architect, Mr . Miller, of HFH from Cambridge . This <br /> architect said that he negotiated 1 .3 .5 with the Town of <br /> Sandwich . He explained that you multiply 1 .3 times the personnel <br /> costs. He needed over and above what his payroll is to cover <br /> benefits to employees. The 2.5 amount according to Jahn Miller i <br /> a standard sure to cover overhead expenses. <br /> Mr, H i a a is looking f o h i c h comes sou t t . 0 which i <br /> a difference over what the Cambridge firm has agreed to with <br /> the Town of Sandwich . <br /> e l . Lawrence asked if overhead costs is above and beyond what <br /> he pays a person. John Ferguson said that was what is in addition <br /> to his personnel . He is saying that if he went with the 1 . , he <br /> would get $117 an hour and ghat he is looking for is $211 .50 an <br /> hour . <br /> Eel . Hanson remembered that they had options A, 8, and C to choose <br /> from, He said that they took Plan A. Sel . Lawrence said that <br /> Town Council put thea together. The Executive Secretary said that <br /> it was based on negotiations. <br /> Sel . Lawrence asked what the discussions the School Building <br /> -1 <br />
