Minutes of Personnel Board <br /> Meeting of February 14, 1983 Page <br /> Proposal of Grades and Ste t <br /> The Personnel. Board reviewed the Executive Secretary's comments on the proposal of <br /> the grades aid steps of employees under ,the P.A.P. see memo of 2/3/83) He asked <br /> that clarification be given for a first year lifeguard. In clarifying a first year <br /> lifeguard's salary, the Board chanced the wording to read: "Lifeguard, 1st year -- <br /> I� or without w I1�. the Executive Secretary indicated that the street uperix ten- i <br /> dent should be at a much higher salary than what was reco mnted and that the Build- <br /> Ing Inspector and Health.Agent should have been-comparable. He also indicated that � <br /> the Town Accountant#s salary is higher than he' thought necessary and that .the Natural <br /> Resource officer's s lar r should be higher: as well as, the Senior Citizen.Bi,reo•tor's <br /> saia y provided that the job Iescription was comparable to :other towns) . The Per- <br /> sonnel Board felt that their recommendations should stag as were recomended in order <br /> to ]peep costs down for the ..town. <br /> Another connent rade in the. Executive Secretary-Is memo .was that the secretarial poli_ <br /> tions in the Selectmen's office and the P ron el office should not be classified until <br /> MMA's classification is completed.. <br /> Joe also commented that having the Executive ec' etar r s salary at a lower grade than <br /> employees he/she must work Wath-is very uin sual.. <br /> One last comment was that the Personnel Board should have considered a grade for tem- <br /> porary <br /> e - <br /> porar r skilled d secretarial help Q -(Note: This, was done by the Personnel. Board at their <br /> last meeting by way of a separate article <br /> Article on New Positions <br /> The Board voted to support. the Street 'Superintendent's article for a pant-time student <br /> horticulturist as �eell as the ar-ticlo submitted b the Recreation Director for a <br /> Recreation Aide, Level I and Level. II. Grades and steps were set for these positions <br /> as well as for the posit-ion of temporary secretary and administrative clerk for- the <br /> Elections and Registration gistration Board,. <br /> Fire Chief Applications <br /> The Board members were reminded by the secretary that the Fire Chief applications needed <br /> to be reviewed as the closing date was February 11. Interviews are tentatively scheduled <br /> for the Per sonne 1's Board meeting ting of Febru-ar . <br /> Interde artmental Meetyn <br /> The secretary informed the Board that interdepart ent .1 meetings are held overt' Thursday <br /> morning at the Town Kalil in an- attempt to better+,communication between various town <br /> agencies.
