P <br /> ,Minutes of Personnel Board <br /> M eting of January 24, 1983 Page <br /> .Grievance of Charles Dottrid cont. <br /> Curtis asked if the chief spoke to hien about the ituation when he returned to the <br /> station? <br /> { <br /> .-Firefighter Dottridge replied that the Chief never mentioned anything to him or to <br /> the Shift Commander, Richard Martini, <br /> , <br /> until e rete*ved the ,reprimand in writing. <br /> Curtis asked how long after the incident was he contacted <br /> Firefighter Dottridge replied that it-was on the 29th of December. <br /> Curtis asked why he thought the chief came down on him if there is no standard order? <br /> Ti efighter Dottridge .replied that he did not know as he had no idea and that he did <br /> not think any of the men could give the Board a~ -reason either, <br /> Dave commented that the chief brought the logue hoof in and that it was noted that <br /> there were nine instances in the logue which showed that a vehicle was taken out for <br /> gas, <br /> Richard Martini commented that unnecessary radio communication over the air is useless, <br /> Sheldon Hamblin commented that he. felt that the reprimand had no basis, <br /> Dave asked what the common practice i <br /> Sheldon Hamblin replied that it all depends on. the shut and that in his shift they <br /> do not logue fueling of vehicles mentioning that Charles Dottridge, Robert Dong and <br /> himself are on the shift) , <br /> Manuel Glickman asked if the Chief was trying to implement a set of procedures so as <br /> to formulate a policy' <br /> Sheldon Hamblin commented that it' was through a- lack of experience that the chief i <br /> imposing a. policy in this manner. <br /> Curtis asked if there was a book in the department which has standard operating pro- <br /> cedures? <br /> ro- <br /> edures? <br /> Sheldon Hamblin said that there is a book which relates to putting out a fire call. <br /> Richard Martini commented further by-swing that it has to do with radio procedures. <br /> Dave referred to a manuel put out by Chief Willis* <br /> Firefighter Martis commented that he felt the actin was taken with nothing to fall <br /> back on. <br /> Firefighter Dottridge replied that it is not in writing, <br /> Firefighter Hamblin commented further by saying "nor at this time is it in writ n ll, <br /> Curtis asked what amount -of gas the vehicle held <br />
