Personnel Board <br /> Meeting of October 29, 1984 <br /> Page <br /> Fa <br /> ucational clause <br /> nny Glickman presented the Board with a draft of language for the education article in <br /> the Personnel Administration Plan. The draft outlined restrictions and limitations as to <br /> the period of time the education is to begin and end, approval of courses through the <br /> Personnel Board and approval for payment upon completion of the course provided an alloca- <br /> tion of funds were granted. This draft was the result of previous discussion by the Board <br /> where the members felt that guidelines needed to be set up in order to distribute the <br /> educational monies in at fair and equitable manner. Carrie Saunders said that she, too, <br /> had information. to bring in. The Board agreed to discuss this further at their~ next meet- <br /> ing. <br /> Vacation Leave - R. Be vacqua <br />' The secretary advised the Board that Donald Bevacqua had stopped into the office with a <br /> question on his annual leave for Fiscal 1984 The question raised by the employee is <br /> whether or not he is entitled to receive Lme credited to him for the months of July and <br /> August 1983 where he indicated that he was on an authorized sick leave. <br /> Language in the present Police contract was reviewed with the Board. The contract states <br /> employees shall be credited with vacation time earned and accrued during the prior fiscal <br /> year based upon time actually worked in that prior fiscal.,year. Employees will be credited <br /> for each month worked p'ovided they were actually present and working at least fifty per- <br /> cent of their regularly scheduled tour~ of dutyin each month. <br /> The secretary informed the Board that she requested clarification from the Executive secretary <br /> for the months in question. <br /> ss. Municipal Personnel Meeting <br /> o members of the Board, Manuel Glickman and Ben Lofchie, along with. the secretary attended <br /> a Mass. Municipal Personnel Meeting held on Saturday, October 27. The Members stated that <br /> they found the annual meeting to. be informative and helpful. A list of up-and-comingwork- <br /> shops was presented to the Board with interest being shown on the seminar on absenteeism <br /> and job evaluations.
