# f t <br /> Personnel Board Meeting <br /> Minutes of sptmber 24, 1984 <br /> Page 2 <br /> e Board reviewed the salary- comparison for Building Inspector and Assistants with <br /> other towns on the Cape. They felt that the Building Inspector was right in line with <br /> other towns and that the Assistant's salary was somewhat higher. The Selectmen asked <br /> the Personnel Board to look into the salary of the plumbing inspector and wiring in- <br /> spector <br /> The last thing reviewed was language being put into the Personnel, Administration Plan <br /> which would allow waivers of standards for cases similar to the one being discussed. <br /> Jean Thomas suggested that the language being worded so that both the approval of the <br /> Personnel Board and the Board of Selectmen would be required. The Personnel Board took <br /> this discussion under advisement. <br /> RECREATION DIRECTOR - : Job Description <br /> Wendy Rubin asked the Personnel Board if they Mould submit an article for town meeting <br /> charging the by-law relating to Recreation Director. She said that the job description <br /> for her position says "Park and Recreation Director" and that she would like to see some <br /> uniformity with the by-law. The Board felt that they have no business getting the by-law <br /> changed. <br /> OUTREACH COORDINATOR - re: Article for Town Meeting <br /> The Personnel Board reviewed a memo dated September 24 from Larry Frazier, Director of the <br /> Senior Citizen Building, asking for the Board's support in submitting an article for the <br /> position of outreach coordinator at the Town Meeting. Carrie Saunders requested that a <br /> job description be forwarded to the Board for their review and that objectives of the <br /> program be outlined. <br /> 0E.SREATION AIDE I NTE RST I Ew <br /> The Personnel Board, along with the assistance of Wendy Rubin, interviewed three candidates <br /> for the position of Recreation Aide (20 hrs. weekly as follows : Johan Kelliher, John Fortin'. <br /> and Lisa Cohen. The Board was in unanimous agreement that John Fortin was the only candid- <br /> ate qualified for the position. Note: Three other candidates scheduled to be interviewed <br /> were: Margaret. Mitchell, who was out of the country, Jennifer B ldoc k, withdrew application, <br /> and Theordore Cote, who did not keep the appointment_ <br /> NATURAL RESOURCE OFFICER APPLICATIONS <br /> As the closing date for receiving applications for the Natural Resource- Officer position wa <br /> today, the secretary asked the Board to review the applications. Since there were over 60 <br /> applications received, Board members decided that they would review them during the next two <br /> weeks with the interview mate being scheduled for October 22. <br /> DAY-TIME DISPATCHER <br /> The secretary told, Board members that the closing date for the day-tine dispatcher was on <br /> Friday, September 28, and that interviews would be scheduled for October 15. Carrie Saunders <br /> asked to review those applications as well. <br /> ANNUAL MEETING - M.M.A. <br /> Board members were asked if they were interested in attending the annual meeting of the <br /> Mass. Municipal Personnel Association scheduled for Saturday, October 27 at Dunfeys. Ben <br /> Lofchie, Manuel Glickman and -Marilyn Farren said that they were interested. <br /> J <br /> ICK BANK LANGUAGE <br /> he secretary advised the Board that the language in the town contracts needed to be reviewed <br /> relative to sick banks so that they are uniform with each other and that guidelines needed to <br /> be set relative to the use of time from the sack bank. k Both Ben Lofchie and Manuel Glickman <br /> volunteered to review the language, L <br /> I <br /> 7. <br />
